You will have 5 partners to send to. So in the end everyone should receive 10 different technique cards. Must haves: Must be made of sturdy cardboard backing. Make sure to have a 1/4 inch hole in the upper left hand corner. Must be creatively designed. What you used for the background Steps in making your technique Tools Needed Your identifying information Date Edition Rules: Only sturdy ATCs will be accepted. The objective is to design and ATC exemplifying that technique. Once the atcs have been received they can displayed as a tool, guide and/or inspiration. You can make them into little books by inserting a ring in the hole provided. These books are great to use when suffering from CB (creatorÒ€ℒs block). They also make great display items on your desk, as well. Only people with a 4.85 rating or higher will be accepted into this swap. If you are a newbie you must email me an example of what you want to swap. Due to the nature of this swap I will only accept newbies who follow through with this instruction. If you have any 3Ò€ℒs or 1Ò€ℒs within the past 6 months please email me to tell me why and I will reconcider you in this swap. I will be checking profiles before assigning partners.

do you mean cardboard like cereal box cardboard, or sturdy cardstock, which is what ATCs are usually made of. Not complaining just wondering!

I usually make my ATCs on cereal box cardboard :)

BastCrystal 01/11/2009 #

I do both - I sometimes use pretty papers attached to cereal box cardboard or attach nice cardstock to cereal box cardboard because I like my ATCs really sturdy. I also recycle, so using the cereal box cardboard is an added plus in my eyes.

I don't like to use cereal box cardboard because it's not acid-free. A few years down the road and everything turns yellow and gets brittle. Better to use good cardstock or acid-free chipboard, mat board or illustration board. Better, if you care about longevity anyway.

If you seal it well with acrylic medium or gesso before using it, that can add some protection.

This sounds like a great swap. Are there any specific techniques you would like included? Joyce

I would like to see uncommon techniques! Something people don't use everyday! Tomorrow I will assign partners and then we can have fun creating our own Technique books. Thank you all for signing up! AmandaPanda

mystmaiden--acrylic medium is the base for acrylic paint, in simplest terms. Pigment is added to make paint.

It's clear and can be mixed with acrylic paints to make glazes, or extend them a bit, or used as a "varnish" to seal a painting or painted item. It comes in both matte and glossy versions, too.

It also makes a great glue for collages, as it also comes in various thicknesses. The thick gel medium can be used to glue down beads and little found objects to collages--its consistency is like face cream.

Brand names include Golden, Liquitex and Creatix.
