Description:

Please join this swap if you would like some guidance for your first postal swap here on Swap-Bot. (Also, please join if you are familiar with swapping and can help guide newbies.)

This swap will be an easy penpal letter swap. You will be randomly assigned one partner to send a letter to. Please write at least a one page letter on some pretty paper or a notecard and then mail it to your partner. Write the title of the swap somewhere on the letter and include your Swap-Bot user name. Decorate the envelope in some manner: collage, stickers, washi tape, a sketch or a doodle--whatever you like! (It doesn't have to take a lot of effort, just a little something to make it special. We can get more involved in other advanced swaps.) Before you begin, take the time to create a profile page with some basic info about yourself and what types of swaps and crafts you are interested in.

How it works:

After you click on "Join Swap" and confirm, you will find the swap listed under "Dashboard" on the top left of your profile page. Your partner will be randomly assigned to you by Swap-bot. You can find their contact information in the yellow box on the right side of the swap page that is titled "Swap Member Options". Click there when you have posted your letter and also when you have received a letter from your partner. Please rate your partner a 5 and heart when you receive a letter from them. Write a short thank you note when you rate them. When your partner rates you in turn, it will show up on your profile page. Once again, leave a little note on this rating saying at least, "You're welcome" or "Thank you!".

Things to be careful about:

Please use nice paper to write your letter on. A dirty, wrinkled page ripped from your school notebook does not make a pleasant experience for your penpal.

Make sure that you have enough postage stamps ready for domestic OR international rates.

If you didn't receive your letter or there is something about the swap that you feel might require a low rating, please contact me or another Penpal Coven admin before rating.

Please send me a direct message here on Swap-Bot if you have any questions. All questions are welcome! :D

Quicklist:

First, before you do anything, fill out your profile page with some information about yourself and what types of swaps and crafts you are interested in.

  1. Join swap.

  2. Send a one-page letter when partners are assigned.

  3. Rate your partner when you receive a letter from them.

  4. Thank your partner twice: once when you rate them and then again when they leave a rating on your profile page.
