Hi everyone! Welcome to the series, ⭐️Sisterhood of the Traveling Journal International⭐️! I took over hosting this swap from Kc055042; wording and instructions have been reused, with a few changes.

If you love making art journals, junk journals, paper crafts, journaling in general, swapping, and making pen friends, then this is the swap for you!

What to do:

Starting a new journal

If you would like to start a new journal, make sure to choose a non-spiral journal. Keep in mind the size as you do not want your partners to have to pay a lot for shipping. Medium sized journals work well for these swaps. You can buy one or make your own. Try to choose one that is approximately 5 x 7 inches. Larger journals like a composition notebook are too big. And it should have a soft cover rather than a hard one. Your journal should have around 30 sheets (60 pages, front & back). You don't want it so be too thick.

Decorate the front and back cover if you wish. Next, decorate the first few pages with paper crafts, designs, doodles, however you would like, but make sure to fill it up! This is all you so if you would like to make it an art journal, junk journal, etc. definitely do so! On the inside of the cover, including the swap name (⭐️Sisterhood of the Traveling Journal International #4⭐️), your Swap Bot username, your address, and anything else you’d like. Also consider including your email if you'd like.

In the first few pages, tell us a bit about yourself or really just write about anything! If you want to write a poem, short story, it's your journal so that is up to you. :) Just make sure to write something. Feel free to be creative and since this is your notebook, format it and design it as you please. Just please make sure to include those details mentioned above to ensure you receive the journal back and are rated for the swap as well.

After creating the journal, this will be sent to your partner and you will receive another in the mail in which you will add a page or a few to the journal. Again, be creative and if you’d like, artistic. Fill the page with things about you or if you’d like. You can add little gifts for the owner of the journal as well! Simply make sure to label it as “For: ‘journal’s owner’” so that anyone else who gets the notebook knows they are not freebies for everyone to take.

Lastly, package your journal and ship it off to your next partner.

If you already have a journal

If you already have a journal you started or would like to use, you can do so. Simply ensure you have your Swap Bot information on the inside cover AS WELL AS the swap name. This will be sent to your partner and you will rate your other partner once you receive the journal they have sent to you.

After receiving

When you receive a journal and have added to it, HOLD ON to it for dear life until the next swap comes around. Join the swap titled ⭐️Sisterhood of the Traveling Journal International⭐️ and send the last journal you have received to your new partner.

Tips: make sure the crafts are sturdy and will not come off. Washi tape, for example, tends to after some time. Packaging tape helps with this. In addition, try to use flat embellishments so the journal doesn't become too thick.

JOIN FUTURE SWAPS: to avoid lost journals and keep a consistent flow, it is important that you join future swaps.

Do not forget to date each entry! This really adds a lot to the journal and its nice to look back at the pages knowing when it was written.

Please make sure you can send your package. It is really upsetting when someone, as well as a group of people, have spent so much time creating and adding to something just to have it never sent back to them. Please ensure you can pay for postage and that you will be able to join future swaps. If you are not able to participate anymore, please message the owner of the journal and try to send their notebook back when possible.

Rate a 5 once you received the swap and a ❤️ If it was extra special.

5 or more Type: 3 swaps with a rating of 5.00 and no recent 1s or 3s. Newbies are welcome with a well filled out profile. I will ban anyone who looks sketchy or who does not meet the requirements. If you have any questions about your eligibility in joining this swap, send me a message and I can help!

If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message or comment below!

This is swap is open to anyone! The title does not discriminate to only one gender, I simply love the movie and wanted to create something that will reflect that in our own Swap Bot way!

Hi! I am interested but I would like to know, does this have a limited amount of pages for a journal? I mean, if I to make a junk journal for this. Thanks!

I am concerned that this is international because of the postage issues. I would like to do international but worry about the mail time in transit and the cost of mailing. Because I have European pen pals, I have learned, for first class mail, (which I believe is the safest and most cost effective, at this time) has a weight limit of 3.5 ounces, maximum size of 6 1/8 inches tall by 11 1/2 inches long and the thickness of 1/4 inch. You could fit a limited paged, handmade 5X7 journal in a large standard size envelope that is 6X9 and be able to mail internationally, first class. Otherwise you might have to go with a package (long mail transit) or priority (which is expensive) and at this time the USPS is not providing priority mailing to some international countries including Canada. Could we tweak the journal to being thin and light and only a page or two being done by each participant. Also, maybe not doing junk pages as they usually have a lot of embellishments i.e. weight added to the journal.
