Description:

Stay-Cations have become the biggest thing since the economy went south. Since many can't travel far from home for their vacations, many stay close to home and enjoy the local attractions.

This swap is geared to bring a little bit of faraway to each of us. You know there are things to do in your town/city and surrounding areas. The kind of places tourists come to see but are everyday sights to you are what I'm talking about.

Each swap partner will send a souvenir to 3 other people. It can be a postcard, a bookmark, or something that is unique to your area. Just make sure that it states the name of the attraction or city somewhere on the souvenir. For example, I live in northern California where one of our big attactions is the Avenue of the Giants; a scenic roadway through redwood forests. Everyone that i send to will get something significant to the redwood forests.

The souvenirs should be something smallish/inexpensive so that mailing them is not too costly.

Sound easy enough? Let's make this a great Stay-cation souvenir swap!

Would it count if the stay-cation was about an hour from home??

This is going to be my first swap and I'm so excited! This is a great idea.

This sounds like a fun swap! Being from Los Angeles, the hard part will be to decide on which attraction's souvenir to send...

We'll actually be visiting one of our attractions this weekend so I'll see what I can pick up ;) I'm watching this for now.

This'll be my first swap. Just curious, are there any price ranges for this kind of thing? :) Thanks for the help!

I'm starting a collection of refrigerator magnets from around the world, then I will be very very very happy if you send me one of where you live! Thanks.

i didn't set a price range... i guess no more than say 10 dollars (usa) and no less than 3 dollars. i say three just because someone might be able to pick up some really cool things on the cheap depending where they live and the kind of things their partner likes.

Hey Tally, about the price range.. I was planning on sending PC's cause we have an annual event like no other and I was wanting to share that with my stay-cationers... But the PC's were .50 cents a piece.. meaning they don't meet the reqs.. do I need to go out and try to find something different last minute?

I learned the hard way with shipping. :) I got to the post office and it costed a lot of money because it was a little larger than the letter post maximum sizes. lol Newbie mistake :)
