Description:

I have just started making small art quilts and come up with an idea of a beginners art quilt.

Your quilt should be no smaller than 4x6 inches and no larger than 12x12 inches. The correct size is 6 x 6. But as this is a beginners swap we all need to start somewhere.

You may use as many embellishments as your heart desires... ribbon, beads, sequins etc

these are art quilts so don't be scared that you have to stick to a certain pattern, use your imagination! Do not worry if you don't possess a sewing machine I don't either, you can make some lovely art quilts by hand sewing it will make them even more special for your partner, because of the extra time and effort you put into making it.

no unexplained no-sends, ratings above a 4.85, must have 5 craft swaps completed... i will be reviewing profiles and dropping folks if need be.

the send date is kinda soon after the signups end, but since this is any theme it does not need to be tailored to your partners profile, so feel free to start now if you'd like. :)

one super cool quiltie for one super cool partner...

Is hand piecing/quilting permitted?

happylilartist 09/ 9/2009 #

are there any minimum requirements - like, it must include fabric, and it must subscribe to the facing, filling and backing idea that makes for a quilt? Ie, can I include paper, make it abstract, etc?

Artistic I do all my /sewingquilting by hand as I do not have a sewing machine so that will be fine, happylilartist it must include facing and filling, I have used a backing idea as well on the one I made that makes a quilt, paper I wouldn't use it must be fabric or felt, velvet, you can make it abstract using scrap material if you wish. :)

ok, thanks. i was thinking paper cloth, but I have enough fabric to make something wicked, so that'll work too. thank you for the clarification.
