Description:

My eldest child is 3 years old and this is our first Christmas at home, so I'm ready to start our family Christmas traditions ( which just may end up being a swap in it's own right!)

I would like to use an advent calendar that has drawers or pockets and write activities which we can do together, which got me thinking that this could be a good swap, so I can get some good ideas.

Therefore, the swap is....to mail a list (1 to 25) of Christmas activities, be they arty, crafty, foody.....they can be your area specific so if you have some good events on close to where you live include them ie turning on the Christmas lights, Carol Service etc (There may be something similar where your partner lives!, )

PLEASE NOTE....I'm not expecting 25 big activities. I'm aware it'll be getting close to Christmas and there will be enough to do,so a good mix of simple activities (jumping in puddles, going for a walk in the forest etc) mixed with more crafty things would be fantastic.

The nitty gritty - this is open to all, however, if you have, for whatever reason a problem fulfilling the swap please let me and your partners know.

I really loved the idea of this swap. In the calendar, is it possible to write down recipes, like i.e. cookie recipes, if it's part of an activity like baking Christmas cookies?

I'm just wondering, because my father and I have a tradition of baking Christmas cookies together as part of the Christmas preparation and I would like to include some recipes, if it's allowed.

That would be fantastic....recipes, instructions on how to make decorations, links to websites which have an activity.....anything!!

I'll probably add some you tube links as well, among other to film clips I usually watch every Christmas and similar.

I'll just add one here as well; the theme song for a childrens TV series, with 24 episodes, called "Jul i Blåfjell" (Christmas at Mountain Blue); http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1PrGUAurIY&feature=PlayList&p=698296360DAE2738&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=67

Sorry for the non-clickable link, it's just to copy & paste.

That looks incredible; excuse my ignorance but is it swedish?? I would love to see it (with subtitles, of course or dubbed.)

NORWEGIAN - just looked at your profile!!

GothicVamperstein 11/12/2009 #

It's fine. :-) With my dialect, most people thinks I'm Danish, rather than Norwegian.

By the way, here's a quick translation of the text;

Kom blåne, kom jente, kom gut snart kommer jula til blåfjell klinger i hei, klinger i li hei hå, må denne dagen bli god den første dagen i blåfjell

Come Bluey, come girl, come boy Soon the Christmas arrives to Blue Mountain Chimes in the moor, chimes in the hills hi ho, this day must be good the first day in blue mountain
