Description:

Create a Postcard featuring your Town, City, Village, State or Country, as you wish.

By Create, I mean handmade : Collage, paint, draw, stamp, sew, embroider etc. NOT purchased.

Use any medium that you wish, but you must address and send it via mail to your partner as you would any postcard. Use a 'fun' stamp if you have it available.

You may want to visit the US Post Office website to determine what will and will not go through the mail. The reason I am not using envelopes is because I want the postoffice to add to the dimensions ! http://www.usps.com/send/preparemailandpackages/measuringtips.htm

Size: 3 1/2" x 5" long. OR other that the USPS says is okay.

Newbies are welcome as long as your profile is filled out. (by filled out I mean address and a line or two about yourself.)

why isn't anyone joining this? it looks awesome...

possibly because we can't send the postcard in an envelope. I love to make handmade postcards, but like to include elements that just get chewed off by postal franking machines, so I stay clear of handmade postcard swaps which specify no envelopes.

oh but it so fun to see what happens to them! (btw the one you sent to me arrived intact!)

plus theres lots of handmade postcard swaps that are sent naked...

I just posted a message about it on the Handmade Postcard Club forum, maybe it will attract 1 or 2 more peeps.

Thanks Camelsamba. Someone was kind enough to point out a few of my faux pas.... by filled out profile - I meant address and a line or two about yourself. I know mine is skimpy, but you can hit the website link for more info.

She also mentioned that the size was not correct for a postcard from the 'average size' perspective. So if you wish to join and make it another size, as long as the USPS says it is okay, It's all okay...
