Description:

I adore Japanese paper's artistry, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. This swap doesn't need any art nor embellishments - it's all about the paper!

Send 3 ATC-sized samples (2.5" x 3.5") of chiyogami, yuzen, or washi Japanese paper to 1 partner. Each sample should be a different paper.

Paper with a coating, i.e. wrapping paper is unacceptable. This swap is only for authentic Japanese paper! The paper samples should not be tissue-paper thin. Visit www.paperstudio.com to get a good idea of what Japanese paper looks like. If you happen to have other Asian decorative papers, contact your partner to see if it's okay.

Each sample should only be ATC-size, no larger, no smaller. If you want to send extra paper to earn a heart, feel free! Samples should be sent unmounted and inside a protective ATC sleeve.

Please do not affix glue nor tape to the paper itself. The Japanese paper should be in excellent condition - not stained, used, bent, nor torn to a size smaller than the ATC. Again, please do not draw/paint on the paper - it's all about the paper!

Newbies with at least 3 Type 3 swaps are welcome. No ratings below a 4.8 will be permitted.

Personally I prefer getting ATC backgrounds a little bit larger than ATC size, so it's easier to attach them to a backing and in case of slightly crooked cuts. Hm. Watching for now.

Nice! I only wish it were more pieces to more partners, I have a lot to share--if anyone wants to private swap for additional pieces let me know.

Hi I am watching also, I have a lot of oriental themed papers but am not sure it falls into the criteria stated x

Would origami paper squares be included in Japanese paper?

MistyPup50,

Origami paper wouldn't fit in this swap. It usually has a coating and Japanese paper has more "tooth" and is a little stronger.

I like the idea of this swap except, I actually make origami out of origami paper, so an ATC sized piece would be pretty close to useless for me :-\

actually the fanciest origami paper generally is washi/yuzen/chiogami. But there are other types of origami paper that wouldn't qualify.
