Description:

This is a swap for people who absolutely adore making matchboxes.

The premise is simple: You will have five partners. You will send each partner a filled and decorated 32 count matchbox. The themes are entirely up to you.

Please be sure, however, to put some time into these matchboxes. Don’t just slap a sheet of paper on the box and call it done. Make sure that any matchbox you make for this swap is fully decorated, and something that you would like to receive.

The fine print –

  1. International players are welcome. Matchboxes don’t cost much to send.
  2. Newbies, however, will have to find another swap. Please have at least 3 rated swaps before joining this one. E-mail based swaps do not count.
  3. At least one of your ratings should be in a matchbox swap. However, I’m willing to be somewhat lenient on this rule – if this is your first matchbox, but you are excited about the idea and confident about your ability to create something nice, PM me and I’ll let you in.
  4. Swappers with a 4.8 rating and higher are welcome. If you feel you have been rated unfairly, PM me and we can talk.
  5. The size of matchboxes can vary from one country to another. Please rate your partner a 5 even if their box is a little bigger or smaller than yours.
  6. Remember, beauty is subjective. If you get your matchbox and it meets the swap requirements, please be sure to rate your partner a 5.

LOL--any hints on what to do with all the matches? Something creative?

Rosalie, you're fast! I just bought more matchboxes, I was out and the first store I looked for some was out, too! This must be a really popular item to play with! Cyn

Oh no! I just saw on the forums that the UK postal strikes are going to be dire this time round ... basically no mail at all from tomorrow lunchtime until Wednesday. Crap!

To all my partners - I'm sorry, I am still finishing them off. I had planned to post them on the due date, but I will aim to finish them all tonight and get them in the post first thing tomorrow. If I can't get them all in tomorrow's mail, I'll get most in. I'm sorry that you'll end up waiting longer for them to arrive :(

(I've put the strike info & link in my profile.)

Well, here it is the 5th and I'm late!

I apologize to all my partners, but I had a crazy week at work and didn't get as much done as I'd hoped, but the latest I'll stick them in the mail will be Monday morning, so not too late. Tonight and tomorrow will be matchbox marathon!

I don't even have the excuse of a mail strike, darn it! ;)
