Description:

The first version of this swap went so well, I'd like to do another round!

Create a small booklet for one partner, which shows a variety of Zentangle patterns. You can show one pattern per page, or multiple patterns, as long as they are separated - the point is to show the individual patterns, not completed Zentangles.

You can show filler patterns, borders, or a mixture. You can show how to draw the patterns step by step, or just show the finished patterns. Use color, or classic black and white. Size of the booklet is up to you. Please show at least 15 different patterns.

Any unexplained 1s or 3s, please message me. Any questions, please message or ask below in the comments.

For inspiration, I suggest Tangle Patterns or search for Zentangle on flickr.

i always start a zentangle project with a feeling that i wont think of enough patterns, but once i get started i cant stop.

I loved the first one, also!! I am def. joining this one!! :) Thanks for the invite!!!

I've finished and i've now got over 50 patterns to choose from!!

just going to check that what i've made is ok with everyone. I'vecompleted many many patterns on 2"squares. I've covered them with plastic coating back to back and hole punched a corner on each square. I have then added them to a keyring with a little cover with my name/details etc. I totally adore it and am certainly going to make myself one, but if whomever i'm partnered with would prefer something a little more traditional book/styley then feel free to let me know and i'll amend what i'm sending. whew!!! that was long winded x

@tinkerbella - if by some very small, remote, chance, your partner doesn't want the "book" you made, I'll be happy to do a private swap for it :)

Would it be ok to make these in a lined notebook? Or should it be on blank pages?

primdollmaker 02/24/2011 #

What size should the pages be? I am new to zentangles so this will really be a learning experience for me.

Random question: When making a Zentangle, are you required to use official Zentangle patterns or can you design your own?

Emika 02/26/2011 #

@gewalli - it should be blank pages
@primdollmaker - the pages can be any size, whatever is comfortable for you. I guess it depends if you want to show one pattern per page, or if you want to divide the page and show multiple patterns on one page
@fightmyeyes - be creative! Use whatever patterns your like. One of my favorite ways to find new patterns is to search images.google.com for Zentangles, and try to copy the patterns I find there

Have to drop, sorry I'm leaving so late... Injured my right wrist and can't draw so good with my left hand :( I'll see you again when I practised my left some more :)

I know you said "blank pages" I have the moleskin grid books suggested for zentangles. I have a couple of them already with ALOT of zentangles practiced in them and the grids have helped me with my practice. Do you think that these would be okay? This even gives the one that recieves it a specific grid to help the artist with the drawing of it. Would that ok? Lori

i took my package to the post office today, I know it was a day late, but I split my nail on my index finger and have struggled with crafting lately xx
