I got this nifty idea of a swap from my favorite book "Good Mail Day" by Jennie Hinchcliff and Carolee Gillian Wheeler. If you love mail and havent read it--I recommend you pick it up.

So this swap is for a Mail Art Kit. Basically get a small bag of some sort. You can use a cosmetic bag or a pencil bag. Try to find one that is a bit interesting and someone would love to carry around. Fill the bag with supplies that can be used for mail art. Some things that would be good are:

Faux postage Real postage Pens Markers Rubber stamps Glue Fun Tape Images

Those are just examples. The book has more examples or you can look up online what other people put into their kits. Make it fun for your partner. I will not put a value on the items but the kit should be full. But that being said dont fill it with garbage unless its interesting upcycled garbage like ticket stubs or such.

Have fun and don't flake. I reserve the right to ban those I feel are a threat to the safety of this swap and my swappers.

Postage on an internationl one would be brutal considering I plan on these being filled well therefore a little heavier. If you would like to do an international version feel free to take on that challenge. I would not mind at all.

I actually found out about mail artistry from stumbling upon that book in the book store! I bought it and have been making mail art ever since! I'd recommend it to anyone- it has a lot of great ideas and really helps you get started... Love this idea and look forward to finding out who my partner is!
