Description:

INTERNATIONAL SWAP Over the coming few weeks you may collect a lot of beautiful wrapping paper, ribbon and cards. Some of these would be beautiful when used on ATCs (or other collages & scrapbooks, etc.)

I always end up with more pretties than I can possibly use...and the sad thing is that when I part with some of that stash, I still would love to have more!

Are you interested in trading part of your post-holiday stash for some treasures someone else has collected?

This is the second year for this swap. You'll have two partners and fill one large zip-lock plastic bag (the gallon size) with at least 12 sheets of paper.

--Paper sheets should be at least 4x4 inches. A few wrinkles or creases might be OK if they give the page a weathered or vintage feel. Paper can be wrapping paper, tissue paper or other paper/pictures that you have collected and want to share. Definition of paper for this swap is that it is light and flexible enough to be folded around a package. It could include newspaper or magazine pages if they would make interesting package wraps. Remember that you must send at least 12 sheets of 4x4 inch paper.

--If you include ribbon, it should be sturdy and flexible enough to tie into a bow. I've received paper ribbon that tore and fell apart. Yarn and other package trim is OK if it is in good condition. Ribbon & trim should be at least 10 inches long.

--Cards should also be in good condition, with photos or illustrations that would be useful for collage, ATCs or inspiration. Cards can be less than 4x4 inch size, but must be in addition to 12 paper sheets. In other words, cards can not replace the 12 sheets of 4x4 wrapping paper. Definition of a card for this swap is that it is heavier in paper weight and would be difficult to fold as wrapping material to cover a package.

--Don't hesitate to include non-holiday wrapping items if you want to share your stash.

Please send things you'd be happy to receive. Don't send trash...it will cost you money, and your partner will feel cheated.

Swap sign-up ends December 31st.

Send your items by January 7th.

My home computer has crashed, so I am not sure how much time I will have this week on the internet. If I don't respond to messages until after the Christmas holiday, it's not because I am ignoring you...just because I can not!

FYI: I found out that the AOL email doesnt work with Swap Bot, so I changed it to a different one, however I do not have partners or addresses to send out this swap... so please let me know if I am in on this swap and if so I need names and addresses of partners.... thank you! Happy New Year All!!

Greenstone - you can see your partners at the very top of this swap, or on your swaps list, by clicking "See your partners" - partners are usually assigned a bit after the deadline, so that the swap coordinators can check everyone meets any minimum swapper criteria :)

Can some kind american please confirm the size of a gallon ziplock bag in terms of inches or cm? I've got plenty of yummy papers and more, but not certain which sizes I need to aim for! Thanks :)

The bag size is 10 9/16 in. x 11 in. (26.82cm x 27.94cm).

I think I sent you a pm on this, but sorry it wasn't sooner for my response!

You did - thank you :)

I have everything ready to go to the PO today but have been stuck inside with the horrible bug going round - hopefully as it's a short lived but virulent thing, I can pop to the PO tomorrow. Bleurgh!

Okidoke - posted :)

Some of the pieces were a bit tatty, but there should be more than enough usable bits in those pieces to be worthwhile - they're all larger than 4x4. I didn't want to trim off the tatty bits as I'd rather be able to pick the areas I use than be limited by someone else's idea of neatening - hopefully my partners will see that, and won't think they've been sent "trash"! :) Besides, there's way more than the minimum in there so there should be plenty!
