My name is Angie and I live in Wisconsin.

I have two dogs, Daisy and Bruiser. I lost my mailart muse, Snooky the Corgi, last November. He was a good boy.

I like to make mixed media postcards and ATCs. I like to play with rubber stamps including hand carving my own. I have a big shot with cool dies. I have lots of stencils. Recently I've been painting more though I still love the other stuff.

People often reveal their age and then say, "But I'm young at heart." I've always been old at heart.

I'm not really into astrology though that whole Gemini thing certainly has some truth to it. I often see things from multiple points of view. In addition, I can be social and gregarious and then quiet and withdrawn. I'm happy both ways just at different times.

I remember my dreams vividly and I do think they tell me things. A book I was reading recently suggested that we are all the characters in our dreams. I find that interesting.

I like ...
The color orange
Science fiction
Handmade postcards
Bohemian, shabby chic type styles
Wearing blue jeans
Being barefoot
Jurassic Park (books and movies)
Survivor (television show)
Twilight and daybreak (times of day, not movies)

My husband is a big super hero/comic book fan - so by association, so am I. We'll usually see all the DC and Marvel movies in the theater. We both enjoy science fiction movies together as well. He's an artist in his own right and so is supportive of my efforts to be one. We've been married for 20 years.

I just finished reading ...

Genome: the extinction files by A.G. Riddle (5/19)
Swimming lessons by Claire Fuller (3/19)
Bitter orange by Claire Fuller (2/19)
Watchers by Dean Koontz (3/19)
The Art Forger by B.A. Shapiro (12/18)
Our endless numbered days by Claire Fuller

Books I've read more than once because they're just that good

Anansi boys by Neil Gaiman
Painter by Peter Heller
Drifters by James Michner
A Perfect red by Amy Butler Greenfield

I have a LOT of vintage and modern type postcards that I'd like to get rid of. If you can send me a local map - you know, the free type that you can only get by being where you are - I'll trade you. What's fair? I'll send you 5-10 postcards in exchange for a map? PM me.

Comment: Thank you so much, Angie! It's great to hear from you!
GinaVisione rated for MA: Cat Street Art postcard on Jun 21, 2019
Comment: OMG Angie - awesome King Cat AND all the brick and line details! Way to go!!!
Response: Thanks Gina. I love drawing the building bits - perhaps I should move onto city-scapes except that I love the cats and dogs so much. Thanks for the nice rating and I hope you enjoy the card!
MamaMangrove rated for MA: Whatcha reading? postcard on Jun 21, 2019
Comment: Your heroine arrived yesterday. Cool card, but life's too short to read bad books! I used to feel like I had to finish every book I started, as thought I had a contract with the author. But now if it's badly written or just doesn't appeal I move on to another. Will work on my card for you this weekend - as soon as I can put the book down!
Response: The ending of the book was pretty decent and truth be told, I was listening to audio and at the end they had a very interesting interview with Douglas Preston. My son happens to be driving with me lately, and we both felt the interview was worth the wait. The book had good elements but the writing is a little ... cheap? short-cutty? Anyway, thanks for the nice rating.

Comment: It's a cat, of course! :) And right today was a missing-kitty-note on my door. The description isn't matching your winged cat (but I hope that she will be found soon). Thank you!
Response: Oh. I hope your neighbor finds their cat. I'm glad you found my winged cat! That is a fun swap. Thanks for the nice rating.
