I like art that involves words--illustrated books, postcards, drawings with words, calligraphy.

I like almost anything that has googley eyes. Flowers delight me, animals charm me.

Cookies are a food group.

I have always liked getting mail. When I was a kid, my parents would let me sort the junk mail.

One of the best things about the internet is seeing things I would otherwise never have the chance to see or know about. I especially enjoy flickr, which gives me the chance to see flowers and trees and gardens from all over the world.

My sense of humor runs the gamut from wry to sarcastic, with the occasional knock-knock joke thrown in.

Oh, this section could be way too long! To sum up:

novels, novels, novels. I enjoy so many different authors, but top favorites include Bailey White, Amy Tan, Julia Alvarez, Marge Piercy.

I also like graphic novels and offbeat titles. I am a huge fan of Lynda Barry.

Biography and memoir are also favorites.

I admit, I enjoy pensive films. Although I recently watched Roman Holiday and longed for a happier ending! (It is happy in its own way.)

Favorite films include: Il Postino, Cinema Paradiso, Buster Keaton movies, anything with Ginger Rogers or Bette Davis, and documentaries.

The color green, minty gum, pictures and maps of small towns and big cities. Drawings, including jots, scribbles, and cartoons. Black and white photographs, elegant font and writing.

I do love getting something in the mail, and postcards seem to a have a magic all their own, a little card that has traveled any sort of distance to bring a greeting!
