I'm into snail mail, postcards, and pocket letters. I have an addiction to stickers, washi, scrap paper, ephemera, and fabric and will soon need an intervention, or a room addition! I am also a member of PostCrossing.
My likes (in no particular order): birds, books, rom- com movies, college football, gardening, old and unusual cookbooks, community/church cookbooks, writing, sewing, pocket letters, maps, transportation schedules, ticket stubs, sewing, fabric, sewing, (did I say sewing?), making bags & totes. I collect Trader Joe's city or area tote bags. I will gladly swap a Chicago bag for another city.
Swap-Bot has been a great experience and I look forward to each and every swap!
It goes without saying because I am a dedicated snail mailer and swapper ... BUT ... if there is ever any delay in receiving one of my swaps, please contact me. I am not a flaker ... the date I use as SENT DATE is accurate and then I have to leave it in the hands of the postal service. :-) Brave girl, I know!! I rate promptly and appreciate it if you do, too!
I like a lot of different music from classical to modern, but I draw the line at Rap, Heavy Metal, and anything else that makes my ears bleed! Basically any music from the '60's and '70's, show tunes, movie soundtracks, soft rock, soft jazz, etc. Some of my throw back faves are Simon & Garfunkel, The Carpenters, Crosby, Stills, Nash & (sometimes) Young, etc. Current faves: Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, Mumford & Sons, Ed Sheeran, Adele, etc.
As an avid reader, there's not much I would pass up. I love a good romantic novel (but not Harlequin types). I'm much more into the likes of Elizabeth Berg, Maeve Binchey, and John Green. Bildungsroman is one of my favorite genres. Yes, I read YA books!
Lately I've also been drawn to historical novels like Buddha in the Attic about the Japanese interment in the US during WWII.
Non-fiction is good, too, and I enjoy sewing books, cook books, home dec, travel, etc. I love my local library and frequent it often!
'Crafting' may be my middle name! I have done all (most) crafts, needlework (except crochet & knitting!!), sewing, stamping, stickering, and most importantly, collecting all kinds of bits and bobs along the way! I'm not a scrap booker, but love scrapping supplies like stickers, washi tape, rubber stamps, pretty papers, twine, buttons, etc. I'm always looking for train, bus, ferry schedules and used tickets.
I tend to gravitate towards 'cool' colors ... I like blues, greens, purples, pinks, and a little silver (glam) thrown in for good measure!
I love to feather my nest and an hour or two at Home Goods is just as good as therapy to me. I can wander the aisles endlessly looking for that great bargain or an orphan piece that I know just what to do with! I was into Shabby Chic and using words like patina long before anyone knew what they were! :-)
