Update 13/11/2020
Mid October my partner, of three years and father to my two infants, and I decided to separate as things have been rocky the past year and a half and it has come to the point that we need to find ourselves as individuals again.
All swaps that have not been received or need angelling, please send me a message with what swap it is and your current postal address and I will get on to it right away. After I have completed all my swaps for this year, I will be going on a short break from swapping while sorting out housing for my kids and I, and setting up our lives again. I apologise to all those that have been let down by my swapping commitment.
Update 13/08/2020
As of midday yesterday, Auckland New Zealand is back in level 3 lockdown. It has been expected to be lifted midnight on the 14/08/2020, but is likely to be extended. Due to this there may be a delay on post boxes being emptied and mail processed. Hopefully this second wave passes by quickly.
Update 01/08/2020
I am now 21! Woohoo! Big celebrations all around with George now almost two months old and Marie - Joanna's next two teeth are starting to come through. Soon she will have 8!
I am at just over 25/100 swaps completed this year and with only four months to go it does not give me much time. So, if you find a swap you think I would like or would like to do a private swap with me, let me know!
Update: 01/07/2020
We welcomed our son George on the 8th of June this year via emergency c - section. Our daughter Marie - Joanna is growing fast and now loves exploring our garden. Please feel free to ask me anything about them in your letters.
I am currently looking for private journal swaps to do as well as any other private swaps. If anyone would like to exchange self care packages from New Zealand or Australia please let me know.
Last week, I started to receive swaps that were sent at the beginning of March, so please be patient with asking for a rating and whether it has arrived. As soon as i have got it and opened it, I will put your rating through.
If any swaps from February or earlier have not arrived yet please reach out to me and i am happy to resend them. Please let me know your address in the message as well.
Thank you for checking out my account and I look forward to swapping with you!
Update: 02/05/2020
I have now completed 17/100 swaps that i set as my target for this year! Please feel free to private message me if you would be interested in doing a swap with me.
With the Coronavirus mail has been a lot slower the past couple of months. When I mark a swap sent I have put it in the post box ready to start its travels to you. I am sorry if there is any delay in swaps arriving because of the virus. As soon as I have received your swap I will open it and post a rating.
Update: 03/03/2020
Over the past month I have found a love for journaling and note taking about random things. I have done my first craft market of 2020 and it was a sucess! I will be listing some of the things that didn't sell in my Etsy store (link at top).
I have started hosting monthly journal swaps, which I have started doing private swaps for. Please feel free to send me a message about doing a private swap at any time. If it is up my alley, I will definitely be keen.
This year I want to complete a total of 100 swaps. I would love to hear what swaps you suggest joining. I am currently at 9/100 swaps completed for 2020.
Things you could tell me about (if you have to/want to write me a letter - interesting places you have visited - about the last photo you took - best mistake you have made - describe what your family pet is like - tips for parenting - your views on spiritualism - about the history if where you are from - a few facts about your favorite plant, activity, artist, musician, place to visit. - What childhood memories have ,made an impact on your life - if you could relive the past five years what would you change? - when was the last time you smiled and what caused it
Update: 02/02/2020
Our little boy George is due on the 16th of June! Recently, my friend Chelsea from @hellosunshine have started getting into spiritualism, medicinal gardening, becoming self sustained and crystals. I have also started collecting incense sticks and memo pads. I love to receive quotes or things to make junk journal pages out of. Sometimes I feature openings of swaps on my YouTube channel (link at the top) and would love for you to check them out for some inspiration.
I am a mother of one gorgeous girl who was born in May 2019 and a little baby bump due in 2020. Since being at home crafting all day I have found a love for my slow cooker and love trying new recipes, even though they don't always turn out right.
I spend most my time knitting and crocheting different things for my Etsy store, writing long letters to pen pals all over the world, working on cars as I'm a mechanic and learning new facts and languages.
Over the past few years, I have learnt little bits of Maori, French, Japanese, German and Spanish. Not enough that I could speak it fluently but enough to say 'hello' and ask a few questions. I would love to be fluent in another language other than English.
I have a passion for history and love learning about different things that have happened in each country. So far I have learnt a bit about the Vietnam war, the black plague, both world war 1 and 2, the New Zealand Wars and the migration of English to Australia.
Over the past few years, I have been building a collection of postcards from all over the world that I am going to make a scrapbook to teach my baby about different places around the world.
On a cold winters day, if I am not snowboarding or skiing, I would be found watching Netflix or listening to music while enjoying a cup of tea wrapped up in the coziest of slippers or fluffy socks, my favorite hoodie or onesie and a beanie!
I love receiving hand made items like beanies and scarfs as well as embellishments and ephemera. Scrap pieces of paper go amazing in my junk journal and i love filming spreads made from things people send me.
I enjoy a wide range of music from heavy metal to pop to relaxing flowy music. My favourite playlists on Spotify at the moment are The Most Beautiful Songs in the World and We Will Over Come All.
Afroman is one of my favourite artists as well as Ghostmane, Eminem, MGK, The Eagles, Jon Bellion, OMC, Supergroove, Kore, Spawnbrezzie, Snoop Dogg, Ed Sheeran, and Amy Winehouse.
I love history books and the odd romance and action book. Murder mysteries keep me on my toes. As long as the dog doesn't get killed I will happily read it! Though, in all honesty, I mainly only have books to use their pages for crafting. I can't remember the last time I actually read a book. (Other than Poetry). I love Lang Leav's and Rupi Kaur's poetry books.
I love to get suggestions on things to read and I love spiritual, crystal and witchery books.
I love working on my bullet journal or craft journal. I love vintage, rustic and 1980's hippie sort of themes. I feel like that was the sort of time I should have been born in. I have a typewriter that I would love to use more frequently, but I need to find ink ribbon for it.
I've recently started making junk journals and zines more and I am loving how creative I can get with them. I tried to make candles and lip balms, they went pretty well but its an expensive hobby.
Likes
anything quirky really.
Dislikes:
I am not a big fan of Halloween or Christmas, I don't usually do any crafting relating to either thing.
To describe my style you may be best to look at my craft Instagram account @snailmail eccentricnincompoop I love vintage things and love a good trip to a second hand shop to find new things to reuse. I love using what I have at home to craft and try not to spend too much on crafting supplies. I love postal themed things as well as psychedelic, spiritual ( not religious), 90s/nostalgic, purple or paua themed.
I collect postcards for my daughter Marie - Joanna and son George, in the hopes of one day inspiring them to want to travel the world. It would be awesome if you were to send a post card that it was addressed to them.
