About Me

I am an Army brat who was lucky enough to live in a few countries before my Dad retired. I wish I had been born first instead of last so that I could have experienced more overseas living. My father's mom was Irish and his Father French Canadian. My Mother is from Australia. My maternal grandmother migrated from England to Australia when she was three years old. Her mother was from Scotland and her father was from Wales. My maternal grandfather was the son of Irish immigrants in Perth, Australia. I love my country while staying loyal to my ancestors which generally leaves me confused as Hell :)

Favorite Music

I listen to all types of music...except Rap...just isn't my thing. Anything from Strauss to Dimmu Borgir. I love Clutch!

Favorite Books

I am not a big reader (much to my mother's dismay). I like the classics. I like books about other cultures, religions and historical places/people. I am big on cookbooks as well.

Favorite Movies

I will watch anything once and NEVER listen to critics. My favorite movies are horror flicks, but I also enjoy the oldies like Holiday Inn and Little Women.

Favorite Crafts

I knit, crochet, quilt, sew, cross-stitch, embroider (not very well), ceramics - I love to try new things.I like every color - my favorite things to make are what I call "ugly" blankets using different (scraps from other projects) colored Yarn/fabric. I don't use lace or trim.

Extras

I love stationary,journals, homemade cards, hand written recipes.... I like things I can use...not big on knick knacks. Anything someone has taken the time to make is special to me. I also enjoy windchimes and suncatchers. I have always been fascinated by other cultures and love to learn about rituals and the little things you find in other peoples homes that mean something.

Temp Out Of Order

Hello - Just a quick note to let you know that due to recent lay off I have become soul bread winner and have had to take on another job. This leaves very little time/money for swapping. I have completed all my current swaps and dropped all others to avoid leaving anyone in a bind :) I hope to get back soon and will miss this outlet! But, the bills need to be paid and I don't want to see the savings disappear :) See you all soon!!!

I am absolutely in love with that soap--and you're right, I'm going to tuck it into a drawer so that I can carry the scent on my clothes. The squares are great, the recipe cards a lovely thought. Response: I will check and get you the brand. I got it at a little yarn shop here in town. It is a little more expensive but I like to support small business.....and the lady who owns it is very nice. I am SO glad you like them!
