I'm 43 and live in NC. I don't feel 43....it's just a # for me. Love all sorts of crafts, but especially fond of knitting and crocheting.
I have been away from swapping for a couple years. I was diagnosed with severe type 2 diabetes, then opted for Gastric Bypass RNY to get my health under control. It worked! I am 200 pounds lighter, and my life is sooo much better! I'm now ready to pick up crafting again! I've really missed it!
I ALWAYS send out my swaps! If for some reason you do not receive your item from me, there has been a postal problem or other problem -- please contact me and I will make it right immediately. The 1 rating on my profile was undeserved and given to me by a disgruntled flaker in a swap I was coordinating -- factual proof of this is included towards the bottom of my profile. I would have a 5.0 rating if not for this flaker.
I can't have chocolate, candy, or other sweet carb-y foods. I can have sugar free treats though. :) I've had Gastric Bypass surgery, so my diet is very limited. So please, if you get me as a swap partner, please don't send any candy or food products for me. :) I can have flavored teas and coffee though. My 7 year old loves candy, especially Japanese star candy, so if you feel like sending some especially for him, that would be sweet. :o) Hello Kitty candy, Panda Cookies or star candy of any kind for my son will definitely get you a heart! :o)
I like all colors. My favorite shades are brights, jewel tones and autumn shades. :) Brighter pastels are nice, but I'm not a big fan of lavender. If I have to name favorites, my top picks for color would be teal blue, fuschia and dark purple.
I'm seriously into cute! I LOVE kawaii, especially items with black cats like kutusita nyanko. Domo is also fabulous! I also really like Monokuro Boo. I don't mind Hello Kitty or other Sanrio stuff. For Kawaii swaps, I prefer not to receive Disney stuff or Diddl. I'm on Disney overload, and I don't think Diddl is cute. But, other than Disney and Diddl, any Kawaii/cute stuff is peachy keen!! I can use stationery, envelopes, memo pads, pens/pencils, deco tape, stickers, erasers, stamps, Bento and accessories (I love those little sauce bottles and mayo cups),plushies, vinyl toys, earrings, charms, purses, handmade stuff ... just about anything Kawaii is great! I'm easy to please.
I love jump drives (flash drives) and lanyards that are cute or special. My husband bought me a jump drive that looks like a penguin, and I received one in the mail as part of an advertisement that has smiley faces on it. I use them a lot in my work (game/hobby shop owner/manager), and just like them colorful or cute. :) I'd love to have another animal or character jump drive! And I can always use neat lanyards.
I collect vintage postcards and vintage photographs.
I'm open to private swaps. But I do check profiles before I accept......I'm not into flakers or rude people. I'm here to have a good time crafting and swapping, not to get caught up in drama or snarkiness. I'm here to have FUN.
I send out nice packages 100% of the time. All of my kawaii stuff is name brand purchased online. But, I am not an expert. I know many of the characters but not all of them. I swap Kawaii to have fun and share with others. Kawaii is about cuteness and fun.....not about drama. K? I just don't have time for that sort of stuff!
I have a lot of stuff I like on my Etsy favorites list. Please ignore any of the expensive stuff. I have the list as a gift idea list for my hubby, and for diet rewards for myself. :o) It's a good sampling of what I like, so I have the link listed.
I'd love to have any sort of chopsticks, from special ones to the plain ones from your local Asian restaurants. I also like PowerPuff Girls, any sort of lip balm/lip gloss or scented lotion or soap, and used books in good condition (no romance novels please). :o)
I knit and crochet. I enjoy making amigurumi animals, Tawashi, lace scarves and shawls, and dishcloths.I also enjoy thread crochet. I collect vintage crochet and knitting patterns, and I also love vintage apron sewing patterns. :) My favorite yarns are sock yarn (or fingering weight yarn), laceweight and kitchen cotton. I use mostly natural fiber or blends, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't love acrylic, too. :) Any amigurumi patterns in crochet or knit are great! And I love cute knitted dishcloth patterns.
My ears are pierced twice, and I like any sort of unusual earrings or bracelets. :o) Any sort of handmade jewelry is awesome. I love to see people's creativity!
Any sort of crafty material is peachy keen too....fabric paper, weird mixes of ephemera, felt...I can use it all. I'm just now starting to discover ATCs and collage art. Swapbot has broadened my creative horizons quite a bit!! I want to try my hand at Dotee dolls too!
I collect vintage photos and vintage postcards. I just love old photos and nostalgia art!!! :o) I also like Chat Noir art reproductions.
Heavy, scratchy acrylics (like the old Pop'n yarn....very stiff stuff). Those yarns are so stiff and thick to work with it makes my hands hurt. Lighter, softer acrylics are ok. I don't like Caron Simply Soft -- the colors are awesome, but it splits like the dickens...aggravates me! lol
Floral scents make me sneeze, with the exception of lavender.
Used books with water damage, mold, broken spines or loose pages.
Romance novels. ugh.
Flakers!!!
Unnecessary swap drama!
I received a 1 rating from a disgruntled swapper in 2007. She signed up for a swap that I was coordinating. She did not follow the rules of the swap, and sent out 11 days late. I held onto her package as I was sending to her, telling her that her package would be sent to her when her partner received from her. If she didn't send, I would send the package on to her partner so that she received a swap package. I did NOT harrass her. I contacted her TWICE about the unsent package, and I felt I handled the situation diplomatically. Look at my other ratings and comments left....I send out great packages. The gal's partner finally did receive her package, but it was not mailed April 25th as the woman told me, but on MAY 1st, wayyy after the April 20th mailing deadline. The 1 rating is in retribution. I mailed this woman's package to her with delivery confirmation the day after her partner received her package -- and it was held only because she was marked as "not sent'' at the swap deadline and took days to answer my email asking if she had mailed. Don't know how 2 emails constitutes "harrassment. Her partner in the swap left a comment on my profile page to show that my account of this situation is true. Her package was delivered -- here's the proof from usps.com: Label/Receipt Number: 0306 2400 0000 0614 4532 Detailed Results:
Delivered, May 07, 2007, 11:22 am, AMESBURY, MA 01913 Arrival at Unit, May 07, 2007, 7:20 am, AMESBURY, MA 01913 Acceptance, May 04, 2007, 3:03 pm, SPINDALE, NC 28160
I was so mad at receiving an undeserved 1 rating that I didn't swap here for 2 years. But I came back because I really missed swapping, and am once again having a blast coordinating and participating in swaps.
Just a warning: FLAKERS piss me off. I love to coordinate swaps.....but flake in one of them, and you will be banned from any swap I run. Period. Do what's right --- don't sign up for a swap if you aren't totally 100% sure that you can mail as promised. Flaking is LAME!!!!!! Sometimes emergencies do arise that make it necessary for some swappers to send late....I totally understand. But don't just flake on a swap and disappear. Acknowledge the problem and send when you can. Flaking out on a swap when you received a package in that exchange from your partner or from someone else is STEALING. Pure and simple.

I pledge to other swap-bot members to:
1.Rate for every swap i take part in.
2.Rate as soon as i am able to get on line after swap is received.
3.Rate Fairly, I will only give a 1 rating if a swap hasn't been received and that no contact has been made from the sender. I promise to pm member first to give them the chance to resolve the situation first.
4.I will only give a 3 if i feel that the swap didn't meet the requirements and that the partner choose's not to correct the swap.
5.I will try and leave a message on all ratings to state what i received and what i was happy with, even if its just a thank you.
6.I will not use slander or badmouth anyone when given a rating, facts is all that is needed when rating a 1.
Also, If I give a 5 in an email swap, it does not mean that I agree with what the sender had to say. It means I received their email and it met the guidelines of the swap.

Hi Julie! :) I was wondering where you bought the Just a Girl book, that you sent me. I'm trying to figure out where to buy Vol.#2 ,either online or at a store. Please let me know. Thanks! :)
I just wanted to give you an extra "thank you so much" for your wonderful package for the Valentine scarf swap. It was so thoughtful and considerate!

Juli, I wish I could give you a heart for your help as swap coordinator during the "Spring Purse Knit Kit" swap. After holding your package for tennisrallygal until she sent mine to me (11 days late), you were unjustly given a "1" in retribution. From the first time I emailed you to tell you that she had never contacted me to get my information, you have always been helpful, courteous, and kind. Thank you for doing such an incredible job as swap coordinator, and I'm so sorry you were punished because you tried to help me. Heather winemakerssister
