Hi, I'm Judy, a retired technical writer in Janesville Wisconsin. I was born in Washington DC, grew up in Ohio, and spent my adult life in Wisconsin and Colorado. I have traveled to Europe: London, Paris, and Brussels, but I wasn't a postcard collector at the time!

For the past 4 years, I have worked full-time as a volunteer for SoldiersAngels.org, and I support American soldiers deployed in the Middle East. I often make 50-state postcard albums for them. A person in each of the 50 states sends a postcard with an encouraging note. Then, I put them all in an album.

I am a Christian, and I love receiving Christian postcards and greeting cards.

I like old Motown, Gospel, and Christian music. Back in the 60s & 70s, I saw Marvin Gaye, the Temptations, Smoky Robinson & The Miracles, and many others in live concerts. I also saw the original Hair and Jesus Christ Superstar. My favorite Gospel singer is Donnie McClurkin.

Last year, I saw the Broadway production of Evita, and it was fantastic.

My favorite show is The Unit, and I'm disappointed that it came back in reruns. I also love Extreme Home Makeover Home Edition and Dancing With the Stars. I watch Jeopardy to see how many answers I know. If I had cable, I'd watch Army Wives!

I prefer British TV, especially miniseries's, and Masterpiece Theater. I rent them from Netflix. Some of my favorites are The Dutchess of Duke Street, The House of Elliot, John Le Carre's A Perfect Spy, The Barchester Chronicles, Berkeley Square, Cranford, The Catherine Cookson Collection, Backstairs at the White House, As Time Goes By, and Foyle's War. My memory's not this good. I checked my Netflix account!

My favorite actors are Helen Mirren, Judi Dench, Robert Duvall, Denzel Washington, James Earl Jones, and Dennis Haysbert (does the Allstate commercials and stars in The Unit).

I give the following movies five stars: Pay It Forward, The Secret Life of Bees, As Good As It Gets, Far From Heaven, I Am David, Cry the Beloved Country, Rabbit-Proof Fence, Charlie Wilson's War, The Bucket List, Chasing Secrets, RV, Chocolat, Hitch, Guess Who (saw the original Guess Who's coming to Dinner with Sydney Poitier in the 60s--both are good), and Chariots of Fire.

I am a postcard collector, and I prefer UNESCO World Heritage sites and US National Historic Landmarks. Themes I like are architecture, mountains, clouds, national parks, water reflections, castles, cathedrals, and beautiful sunsets. I don't collect maps, art, animals, or flowers although I keep a supply to swap.I also have some vintage postcards to swap. You can see them in my Flickr Photostream. I LOVE US military and patriotic postcards.

I've been a member of Postcrossing for over a year, and have sent 167 postcards. I usually send my swaps within two days unless I need to look for something I don't have.

I have a wide variety of postcards including maps, UNESCO, Yosemite, Alaska, and much more. I only send postcards in unused, mint condition. I hope you do the same. If you don't hear from me about a swap, please contact me before leaving a bad rating. I can resend if necessary. I always try to make you happy!
