Hi! My name is Lynnette, I'm a mom of 3 from Wisconsin. I work in a library, which I absolutely love. In my free time (with kids, what free time? LOL) I love to read and knit, and I spend way too much time on Facebook. I've been a member of Postcrossing for a while, and thought I'd give Swap-Bot a try too. :)
I don't flake. Ever. Because I know what it feels like, especially being flaked on for a handmade swap--if you didn't receive a package from me, PLEASE let me know and I will make it right.
I've been flaked on 3 times now for big swaps. I'm to the point where I'm ready to call it a day here on Swap-Bot. If you want to do a personal swap, please PM me.
I love knitting, especially socks (Oh how I love sock yarn!)...I've been knitting for nearly 12 years, since my oldest daughter was a baby. I'm always looking to expand my skills, and am teaching/organizing a knitting group at my library, which I am very excited about.
I do some crochet and sewing/quilting. I'm not so great at quilting..it requires being very precise and I'm more a "good enough" type person.
Mostly Alternative (newer and 90's Grunge type, Nirvana, Sound Garden, Pearl Jam) and 80's (Smiths, Cure, REM) in addition to 80's pop/one hit wonders. Not much Country, although I will listen to older Kenny Rogers/Johnny Cash/Hank Williams type stuff in a pinch. And some Taylor Swift, but don't tell anyone ;)
I'm suddenly having this addiction to TruTv "not really reality, but we tell you it is" shows, like Operation Repo. And the show Jail/Las Vegas Jailhouse for some reason. Love court shows, like People's Court and Judge Judy. Will watch SyFy with my husband (Love me some Doctor Who!) Like watching Hoarders/Animal Hoarders/Hoarding: Buried Alive because they make me feel better about MY house. hahahaha
I have so many favorite movies that stretch so many different genres. My all time favorite movie is probably Gone With The Wind. Of course, the pendulum swings the other way, when my second favorite movie is Shaun of the Dead. I love Adam Sandler movies, Office Space. Not so much into Romantic comedies, but I'm the "half the people" that thing Russell Brand is funny.
Books are as varied as movies, especially since I work in the Youth department and the Reference Department. Love the classics, like GWTW, To Kill A Mockingbird. Love the Hunger Games series, and The Fourth Stall is hilarious. Enjoy True Crime novels, Janet Evanovich's number series, Dresden books (new one is almost out--can't wait!). Grew up reading Stephen King, and love his older stuff. Not too much romance--tried the Nora Roberts bride series and just couldn't make it through. Love Chelsea Handler's books, and history and biographies. Just started reading knitting mysteries. ;)

Knitting Cats Sheep Green things Tea school supplies Postcards (written on is best) Sims 3 Animal Crossing (Seriously, if you play, send me a friend code!!) Socks Pretty smells, especially lavender and Patchoulli Anything little that is a surprise!
Dislikes: I don't have many. Soiled things. Bad smelly things (including heavy smoke smell)
I've been joining tea swaps lately, so I thought I'd update. I love black tea (English Breakfast and Earl Grey are my favorite!) and chamomile and lemon get me to sleep at night ;) I am willing to try anything once, and am just hoping I don't fall completely and madly in love with an exotic blend that cost $25 an ounce!
I recently joined a candy swap, so I better update that right? I'm not huge into chocolate--especially dark chocolate. I am one of those strange people that likes Hershey's chocolate over "real" chocolate. I also don't like black licorice! But oh sugary sweet goodness like Skittles! If you can find me some Razzles, I will be your best friend--I LOVE them (First it's a candy! Then it's gum...) but they are hard to find. I love vintage 80's candies (Freshen Up gum!) and I even like those candy buttons that leave you eating paper.
The one big exception to my chocolate rule--MILK DUDS!! Love me some duds...I think it's because they stick your teeth together with sugary goodness!
Seriously, no preference. Funny is good...it's hard to find anything "different". I don't have any particular collection or anything--I value every postcard I get! I have map cards from Nebraska, Ohio and Florida so far :)
Because it's been asked....LOL: Green is my favorite color. I love Emerald or Forest green. I have also suddenly had a fondness for pinks (but not hot pink). Green and pink together is nice. I also love dark blues...but don't feel limited to anything by my color choices. It's for reference only if you need some help. :)
You know, I was surprised when I joined Swap Bot and saw this on people's walls. After being flaked on--for bigger swaps--I decided to start my own, and hope it's a short list. Flaking=NOT COOL. It's just like stealing. I don't need excuses after the fact.
@ttlance88 Tami Lance flaked on fruit themed dishcloth--has only participated in 9 swaps, and appears to have flaked on at least the last 2. I spent a lot of time knitting my cloth and didn't get one back.
@sophiemexico Frida Santamaria flaked on postcard and a bookmark #3--I'd tell you something about her, but her account was deleted.
@ptara Tara Sullivan flaked on me for Lovely Loose Tea.
Oh, and I did have one person complain because I didn't give her a heart. I'm VERY liberal with my hearts--I nearly always give one, because I nearly always love what is sent--personal notes are heart-worthy and make me happy. But when you send the exact amount of tea in a plain white envelope with no note and your swap name scrawled across the outside of it--no, you aren't getting a heart. Did you earn it?
