Lavender

Hello! I'm S, but you can call me Lavender. First and foremost, I must tell you that I'm a mother. My daughter is the most amazing person in my life and she inspires me to do anything. She's 3 years old, going on 12.

My friends call me a hippie, my brother calls me a freak (in a loving way), but I like to call myself content. I always find joy in the simple things in life. I'm a vegetarian and I try to live a natural "green" lifestyle.

• I also live in Canada, so if your swap doesn't arrive in two weeks, please contact me before leaving negative feedback. Canada Post likes to take their sweet time when it comes to delivering. They usually average 2.5 weeks when shipping to the US (even though I live close to the border) and 2days-4weeks when shipping within Canada (yeah, don't know how to explain that one).

• There are no allergies in our household.

...Teas... I love teas, but only herbal fruity type teas. My three favourite teas are Stash's Wild Raspberry, Stash's Wild Blackcurrant & Tazo's Wild Sweet Orange. The Wild theme is only a coincidence. I really dislike any teas that contain green or black tea as an ingredient. I'm very interested in herbal teas from around the world, especially since I'm very limited to about 5 brands where I live.

...Vintage... I love any vintage linens, such as aprons, tablecloths, napkins, hankies, etc.! Even if it's new and is made to look vintage, I still love it.

...Photography... I own a Canon Rebel XT and I enjoy capturing the world around me from my perspective. Nature and young children are my favourite photographic subjects.

...Knitting... Knitting is one of my favourite past times. It's so calming and really is needle therapy to me. I love to knit with wool (merino) and cotton but do enjoy the fun that acrylic has to offer (such as being able to wash it without shrinking). I'm always in search of bamboo circs, as they are not readily available in my area (are you seeing a theme here? haha) and patterns. I'm not a pro at knitting and tend to stick to easy things like hats, scarves and dishcloths. Short rows scare me. I've also been working on my first sweater for the last 2.5 years.

...Scrapbooking... I'm addicted to collecting scrapbooking supplies. I just never have time to actually sit down and scrap, but I do have intentions to... someday.

...Card Making... I haven't sent anyone a store bought card in years. It's so much fun designing a personal card and putting that personal touch on it.

...Jewelry... I love necklaces and bracelets that are made of glass beads. So so pretty! My jewelry buying addiction is almost as bad as my tea buying addiction.

...Sewing... I'm just learning to sew. Once I figure out how to thread my 25year old machine I will be back on track. I sewed up these little doll diapers for my daughter's doll and they are so cute. And, that's about it for what I've sewn. But I do love to collect cute fabrics for that "someday" day that I will sit down and sew.

...Essential Oils... I always have a diffuser burning with an essential oil. I currently have lavender, ylang ylang, lemon, orange, eucalyptus, peppermint and rose.

..Purses... I'm a purse addict. I love purses, especially handmade ones. I also have a lusting for handmade wallets/change purses.

...Candles... I love relaxing in a hot bath to only candle light. I especially enjoy beeswax candles. Gel candles scare me - Once, one caught on fire while I was in the tub and 9 months pregnant. Now THAT was a sight to see; me trying to get out of the tub quickly to put it out.

...Colours... I love earthy tones, such as browns, blues & greens. I really don't like pinks or purples.

I enjoy parenting books and anything written by Jennifer Weiner. I own her first three books and I cannot wait to read her next ones.

I enjoy any type of music. I listen to classical when doing homework and I listen to everything from the 60s-today.

I like Desperate Housewives, CSI, Veronica Mars, Hell's Kitchen, Big Brother, House & any home decorating shows.
