I've lived in California all my life, for the most part in the Los Angeles area (where I am now), but lived in the San Francisco and San Jose areas for about 14 years, where I also attended college and graduate school. I love learning and would love to be a professional student. I guess that's why I like crafting so much - there is always something new to learn. I am a wife and I am a mother to 2 wonderful kids, high school school and junior high school aged. I'm a Girl Scout leader and help coach my daughter's FLL robotics team. I also work full-time so my crafting time is my creative therapy. I really make an effort to send a package I would love to receive, so if you do not receive a swap from me, please let me know.
Cupcakes (baked and otherwise) are a fancy of mine. Anything with a cupcake on it is sure to earn a heart from me.
I love hummingbirds, birds in general, ladybugs, and butterflies.
I don't get to read much, but love all things Jane Austen, big fan of the Harry Potter series, Dan Brown, and grew up reading Tolkein and Steven King. I also love mysteries.
I love to garden even though I don't have too much time for it.
I love coffee (Starbucks, yum) and dark chocolate. My dream is to open a coffee shop with an adjoining crafty/cottagy boutique.
Newest addiction: my travelers notebook planner! I've always decorated my planners with stickers and used colored sticky notes, but the planner world has taken this to a whole new level! My favorite items to use are decorative stickers, word stickers, stencils, washi, and fine point gel pens. I would love 6x6 papers, fun tags, anything with polka dots, anything fuschia/pink or aqua/turquoise or brightly colored, Paris-themed items, anything Marie Antoinette (think cakes, flowers, crowns, jewels, decorated shoes), vintage-themed items, aged or weathered items, fairies, gingerbread men, Bigfoot images, or something you love and want to share with the world.
I love all 80's New Wave, 80's Disco, Latin Jazz and Salsa music, but enjoy lots of other genres as well.
I really enjoy a good romantic comeday like Pride and Prejudice (BBC version is the best), The Wedding Date, Bride & Prejudice, Ever After, and most comedies. Some of my faves are Legally Blonde and Groundhog Day.
I enjoy watching Top Chef, Project Runway, Finding Bigfoot and just about anything on Food Network, as well as comedies such as The Big Bang Theory.
I love paper crafts (I've made paper bag albums, tags, inchies and altered matchboxes), cardmaking, stamping, baking, jewelry-making (love all crystal jewelry), I can also crochet, and I took a sewing class and I really enjoyed it.
I love all kinds of scrapbooking embellishments, especially flowers and anything with glitter.
My favorite colors are turquoise, coral and peach, and also love pink & aqua. And for paper crafts I prefer brighter colors (orange, turquoise, red, yellow, bright pink, lime, colors that make you want to smile). I also just started to journal and am trying to use watercolors, so if you have watercolor paint samples to share I would love to receive them. I love using vintage images and ephemera (vintage inspired or flowers).
I have a decent vintage button collection and love old book pages, especially anything in French.
I LOVE using glitter - glitter glue or loose. I also love anything with glitter or polka dots (paper, ribbon, buttons, fabric, stickers, etc.). I also like hummingbirds, scalloped edges, flower-shaped items, butterflies, pieces of tulle or other sheer fabric for making small flowers, Stickles, small ink pads, antique brass jewelry findings, birds, board games, candles (lemon, vanilla, pineapple, apple, mango, coconut, raspberry, melon, pretty much any fruit scent), spiral notepads, sugar-free spearmint gum, and anything coffee-flavored.
Most current obsessions: ATCs, hummingbirds, lemons, and planner page decorating, I am currently using an A5 sized travelers notebook (fits standard May books and Carpe Diem TN inserts).
Wants: watercolor paint samples; washi tape that is vintage themed; aged items; sticker flakes; florals; Japanese washi tape samples; mini office supplies.
My word for the year is "plan" so any piece of paper with "plan" stamped, hand-lettered, sticker lettered or glued on it would be fun to use in my planner or vision board!! I've been behind on all my responsibilities so I am going to focus on scheduling the time to get stuff done in 2019!!
I am currently drawn to travel themed embellishments and I prefer decorative stickers, rather than functional stickers. I would love washi tape samples, fabric flowers, seam binding, fibers/yarn samples, tiny beads, sequins, postage stamps, stamped images; or anything with a hummingbird on it.
I really love handmade items. Don't be shy about sharing your craftiness.
Thanks for taking the time to read this!! Have a great day!!! :o)
