I've recently rediscovered my long lost love of crafting and I'm constantly looking for new things that I can make. Unfortunately I seem to make a lot more than I need and don't end up knowing what to do with them all, I found this while looking for a blog with instructions to make a wallet (although to no avail) and saw this site mentioned so I thought I'd sign up and see what it was all about :)
I live with my mum in Shropshire, England. We have the cutest dog in the world called D'arcy, he's a Collie Cross, we don't know what he's crossed with though because we got him from a rescue shelter.
I'm a full-time student, but over here that just means I have 6 hours of lectures a week and the odd essay to write. I study Education and English and am a bit of a literature and history geek.
I dabble in needle felting but I'm still in the practising process so it's not perfect yet.
I do a bit of card-making, I used to make a lot more but then I made more than I could send so now I only make ones for special occasions. I've also just started making ATCs.
I love felt and use it to make anything I can think of, mainly cute little animals though.
I love ribbons and buttons and have been collecting different sorts and using them in anything I can think of.
I also make scrabble and glass tile pendants and am always looking for bits of nice paper to use on those.
I've just been given a sewing machine by my grandma for my birthday so I'm learning how to use it. The plan is to make a quilt for myself, I've got all of the fabric but I'm a bit scared of starting, it seems like such a big project and I don't want it to go wrong! I'd also love to be able to make the odd piece of clothing, but I think that's going to have to wait until I'm a bit better at it!
Love 80s films, I'm a bit Kevin Smith fan, I'm not really into Action films or Chick Flicks like Dirty Dancing or Pretty Woman, but I'll watch most things and I usually enjoy them. I like thrillers although I sometimes get disappointed if I can figure out the twist, my favourite films are Footloose, Memento, Say it isn't so, Master and Commander and Idiocracy, along with many more!
I like most things, anything I can use to create something is preferred. Things like
Felt
Fabric scraps
Pens
Buttons
Beads
Patterned papers
Sweets and chocolate (no nuts though, I'm not allergic but I don't like them, or black liquorice-strawberry laces style stuff is fine though)
Anything handmade
Ribbons
Thread/Embroidery Floss
Pendants
Plushies
Brads
Rubber Stamps
Ink Pads
Embossing powders
Fine Glitter
Stickers
Rubber Ducks, I collect them and have about 30 now which are in my bathroom, I particularly like ones based on famous people as long as the Duck has a pun in it's name. My current favourite is Jimi Hendrake but I'm on the look out for the Star Wars ones in particular!
My favourite animals are penguins and owls. I like that it's impossible not to smile or laugh when you see a penguin, they're just so cute!
My favourite colour is purple, but I also like blues, black, grey, white, pink and turquoise.
Anything Kawaii, although my favourite characters are Rilakkuma, Mamegoma, My Melody and Kireizukin. I'm not massively into Hello Kitty, but I have a friend who really is so she would always love anything Hello Kitty!
That's all I can think of that I use, but feel free to send anything that isn't on the dislikes because I always like a surprise :)
Oh, and I have no problem with anything rude/crude or lewd!
I don't drink hot drinks so no teas/coffee/hot chocolate please
Scrapbooking paper, I've never got into scrapbooking so the whole sheets are too much, but scraps of them are fine because I can use them to make cards with
Anything overly floral. I don't mind Cath Kidston style florals, but the old fashioned ones aren't very me.
I hate the colours orange and yellow, and I'm not overly keen on green (especially lime green)
Candles
Anything religious, I don't believe in god so any sentiment or item will be completely wasted on me
I don't wear much jewellery, and I'm quite fussy about what I do wear, I don't like big or dangly earrings. I only wear silver coloured stuff (except earrings which have to be sterling silver or I react badly to them) I rarely wear bracelets and I only wear long necklaces but I prefer muted colours and nothing too jangly because the noise drives me mad!
I don't really have a favourite book. There are way too many to choose from. I like historical fiction, but mainly set in the UK during the Tudor or Victorian era. I quite like books about prostitutes, which sounds odd I know, but they're always really good!
I like books where the protagonist is an underdog. I also like books which feature drug use. I don't use drugs, but I like to read about people who do. I think reading should be about escapism, and what's more escapist than something which I'd never do, and which completely affects someone's life.
I'll read almost anything, but definitely no chick lit. I'm not a huge fan of crime books either, I just can't get into them.
I don't like books where everything goes right, or books that are predictable. I like to be surprised and I don't always want a happy ending.
I don't like Harry Potter, at all. I just don't get it! I don't like sci-fi/fantasy much either, apart from The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy!
I like books about science and reason. I like 'real' psychology, like why people do certain things, body language etc... not self-help, dream analysis or anything like that. I like books by atheists about atheism, as long as it's logical and based on science and reason, and not just an excuse for someone to bash religious fundamentalists (If I want to read that sort of thing I'll look online - it's so much funnier, especially when someone puts an apostrophe in the wrong place!)

Thanks for joining the I Love Kawaii! group! It is not required, but it would be helpful to put a small section or paragraph telling what your favorite kawaii characters are. Have a great day!
