Musical Preferences

Classical, opera, Christian worship. I am a classically trained pianist. Started taking lessons when I was 7 years old and started teaching when I was 11 years old. I have taught piano to children most of my life. I miss teaching very much, but due to health issues, I can't teach any more. I have played in numerous churches and worship teams through the years.

RUBBER STAMPING - I started rubber stamping when I was a young teen - buying my first stamps from The Boston Stamp Company. That was WAAAAAY before stamping became the art that it is today! I made simple cards and decorated my pen pal stationery with them.

When I moved to MO, some years ago, I ended up in Warrensburg, not knowing many people at all. One Saturday, I was really bored, and I had seen an ad in the paper for a rubber stamping store. I thought - well, what could I loose?......

Donna and I became great friends and I went to her shop almost every weekend where she taught me everything she knew about rubber stamping!! She didn't even charge me for classes - just for what I purchased and used! She is a wonderful woman - we have lost touch over the years, unfortunately.

Then when I got online, I joined a bunch of stamping yahoogroups and found BBs! I started participating in swaps, where I learned a LOT of neat things! Then I began to host swaps.

Over the years I have hosted hundreds of swaps! It was so much fun, and very time consuming to run 4-6 swaps a month!

I started teaching classes, ran a stamping group for children, and became a demostrator for Sweet Celebrations, which is no longer in business. I really loved their stamps!

I also had the opportunity to take classes by well known national artists at a stamping shop in Columbia, which, sadly, is no longer in business, either. I learned so much there!

FAVORITE COLORS: earth tones, browns, blues, greens,tan, paper with inclusions

FAVORITE EMBELLISHMENTS: ribbon, yarn, lace, charms, buttons, emphamera, etc!

FAVORITE STAMPS: realistic, mostly. I love flowers, dogs, cats, horses, and nice sayings.I prefer unmounted stamps from Angel Companies

Favorite techniques: different kinds of folding, brayering, torn edges, always looking to learn something new because I sure don't know it all!! I like to use liquid applique, too!

I have also started making some ATCs......they are somewhat more difficult for me, but I do enjoy the challenge!

I enjoy working with used postage stamps. I just started decoupage' with them on boxes. Also use them for ATCs and rubber stamped cards!

II do some scrapbooking for my cat, Margo. She is a tortie/white DSH. She is a sweetheart!

I am 54 and single. I live with my cat, Margo. She loves mousies and Greenies :) I collect postcards of dogs, and snowman items. I have been swapping for years and really enjoy it.

Years ago I bred and showed Shih Tzus, so I adore anything Shih Tzu or with a Shih Tzu on it!

STICKERS: I enjoy dogs, cats, flowers, butterflies, birds, US flags, snowmen. fall leaves, Thanksgiving. Nothing Halloween. I don't like puffy or 3-D stickers so please don't send that kind. Thanks!
