I was visiting my dear mil and saw the great snail mail she was receiving. This looks like so much fun and since I tend to accumulate things to use later I think I'd have some great stuff to share! I thrift store shop on a regular basis. We have a great one in our little town that still sells at thrift store prices! I live in rural Southwest Missouri with my husband, teenage son and our 3 dogs (Jasmine, Bear & Blue) plus bearded dragon (Deca) ((greek word for ten...my son bought with money from his 10th birthday)).
I'm a voracious reader! The back of a cereal box will do when there's nothing else available. haha! Currently loving these authors: Sara Gruen, Sarah Addison Allen, Kathryn Stockett, James Patterson, Cathy Lamb, Adriana Trigiani...among many, many others. I can't walk past a stack of free bookmarks without grabbing one.
Must see tv: Bones, CSI (New York and Las Vegas only), Raising Hope, The Big Bang Theory, Top Shot, Hot in Cleveland, Fringe. We dvr everything! I didn't think I love that little machine as much as I do.....
After many, many years not crafting or sewing...I've dug out the sewing machine, fired up the glue gun and helped myself to all the hand tools. I'm making purses from thrift store clothing or fabric, gluing glassware together to make cupcake stands, etc.
Fairly new to stamp carving and I just love dreaming up images to try.
Blue is my favorite color. But yellow and pink are right up there too!
ATC's & altered books are soooo cooool. I'm now brave enough to join these swaps! I think altering has become my new craft passion.
Vintage paper products like postcards, wrapping paper, advertisements.
Funky, vintage fabrics for purses. Like patterned napkins or tablecloths.
Old jewelry to remix. Trying to amass a large collection of enamel flower pins for a purse project for myself. I have my grandmothers old pins. Love them!
Vintage or funky print pillow cases to make totebags with.
Love taking photographs of nature, animals and architecture. Not so good at getting good shots of people.
I really don't have any dislikes. I am very easy to please. I love surprises! Just be creative and go for it.
Erasers for stamp carving. My favorite kind, so far, is the large white eraser 3 pack from Dollar Tree. It's 2.75"x1.25" and produces a superb stamp. Its like carving butter! Ha!
Newspaper pages printed in something other than english. Hint, hint all my international swap partners.
Colorful road maps from anywhere.
Small glass bottles (with or without cap) to alter.
Foreign currency worth 25 cents or less. Very willing to send this out as well if you are a collector.
Any Asian magazines with the heavy weight, high gloss pages to make the most gorgeous paper beads you've ever seen! Extra love if full of oriental calligraphy.
Any seamstress measuring tapes. Old, new, fabric, or plastic. Any condition. Also any retractable metal measuring tapes. These can be broken. I'd like to use the tape part for some snap close pouches.
Santa face mugs, scrabble tiles, colorful game boards (especially vintage and chinese checkers), Coca-cola bottles and related items, the letters "N" "P" "A" and "S" (such as ornaments and advertising letters), Christmas themed books (like little golden books), dictionaries and atlases (weird, huh?).
I am a proud member of my local Friends of the Library group! We are always on the look out for items to gift the children's program coordinator with. If you're looking for a good home for any of the following items, we joyfully accept!
...Small stickers for attendance charts ...Construction paper ...Colored card stock ...Colored craft foam sheets or shapes ...Any fun/holiday stickers to use on handcrafted bookmarks ...Craft sticks ...Curly ribbon in any color ...Glitter glue
