Greetings from the northern mountains of New York State, a lo-o-o-ong way from New York City. I can send you local maple syrup and maple candy. Is there a unique local item you can you send me?
I love swapping! Swap-bot's greatest gift to me has been getting me to try new things and crafts I had not done since childhood. Private swaps are wonderful.
My favorite color is red, my Spouse's is purple and our 3-1/2-year-old Child's is green (this week). I adore handmade items that show thought and time spent. I also adore store-bought treats and trinkets. I have a gigantic sweet tooth but I am on Weight Watchers. When I am caught up on swaps here, I browse around on sendsomething.net and send a packet to a stranger.
The screen name NorthernBorder is because our little farm is close to the USA border with Quebec, Canada. I am a mid-40s earth mama, crunchy granola, liberal white lady, well-educated and worldly, with a career behind me and parenthood before me.
LIKES & WISHLIST:
Please know that I most often send unique, pre-owned, gently used, recycled and thrift shop items. I reuse packaging, and (much to my sadness) I am not very neat! However, I am original :-) I give a heart when a package makes me say, "wow!"
Please do not send me X-rated (or even smutty) or Evangelical things. These will make me embarrassed and/or grumpy and ruin my day.
I have a chocolate lab and three housecats by way of rescue. I also have a flock of about 25 chickens who lay the world's best eggs. I used to raise organic hogs. Boy, was that pork good.
I run a small non-profit organization that provides arts-and-healing retreats to women with cancer and chronic illness and to veterans and military spouses. My Beloved Spouse is full-time school administrator and volunteer firefighter for our town. Our beloved Child is full-time emperor and light of our lives.
My regular non-swappish pastimes include reading, imagining my family's future, trying to make society more just, being brave, praying and thanking God, writing, gazing into nature, cooking, kissing my Beloveds, gentle exercise, farm & garden work, laughing, chores, arts, girlfriends.
When I have other time I like to draw and make art, write poems or in my journal, volunteer for my town library and our art center and grow some of my family's food.
Thanks again for your interest. Best regards to you & yours!

Thanks for posting the whole wheat bread recipe in Old School Skills. That was one reason I joined the group! The bread is great! I've been looking for a simple, healthy recipe. You Rock!
Hi...Your Yummy Swap is going into the mail this afternoon...FYI-I love tape & I really packed it so that the jars wouldn't break...you may have to use the "Jaws of Life" to gain entry into your Swap. : )

♥♥♥♥♥♥ Whenever I buy a book that I know I'll use again and again I always go to an office supply store to have the spine replaced with coils. Hope you get lots of ideas from your book, it has lots of quick and easy tasty treats inside. =) ♥♥♥♥♥♥
Hi! I have you for the thrift shop swap and I was wondering if you could think of anything you might like. This is my first swap of this kind and I'm at a loss right now! You can just send me a message if you think of something.
