Special Note: Currently my router for my home internet connection is down. So I apologize for being behind with ratings. I am marking down arrivals so I can leave feedbacks asap! Sorry, again. I am doing my best to get feedbacks left when I can log on.
I am a thirty-something SAHM mother of two girls and a boy ranging from 10 months to 10 years. My husband and I are trying to find ways to raise our family healthier. We've recently been able to buy the land we're living on and are working on getting our little homestead up and running. We have chickens and a couple goats--hoping to get a few rabbits soon. We've also just started homeschooling our 10 year old daughter.
Being a child of the 80's, I enjoy a lot of that music still. Rick Astley is one of my favorite artists from way back when. I have found the whole You-tube phenomenon of Rick-rolling just hilarious!
Wuthering Heights is one of my all time favorites. I count Mary Higgins Clark, Robin Cook, Faye Kellerman and JD Robb among some of my favorite authors. I also like cookbooks and different types of crafting books. For the kids classics, we like Dr. Seuss, Anne of Green Gables, Little House books, If You Give a Mouse series, Wizard of Oz books, etc.
I started sewing in seventh grade when I took sewing class. I used to make a lot of my own clothes as a teen, but haven't taken time for that since I have had children. I do enjoy sewing clothes for them, but again, it's hard to find time. I enjoy quick crafts with fabrics. I have an embroidery/sewing machine and a serger. I also enjoy scrapbooking and other paper-type crafts. Recently I have had some fun with altering composition books. I also have made a few softie/animal type dolls lately and had fun with that. It's fun to be able to turn such small pieces of fabric into something so cute.
My favorite color is blue-pretty much any shade. I like all other colors, too, though. I have seen many combinations of aqua and red lately and love how it looks together. Pinks are another favorite of mine.
I have a definite weakness for flannel. I just can't stop buying it when it is on sale! I've been adding some more quilting cotton prints to my stash since this is the fabric I seem to use most. I love cute prints for boys and girls. Little animals like monkeys, owls, rabbits, hedgehogs, turtles, frogs are just adorable. Flower prints are great, too. Small or large--it just depends on the project I have in mind. I love the look of combining different contrasting fabrics to make a bright and colorful set. I also think the Japanese prints are adorable, but haven't had a chance to get my hands on any!
I'd like to get my family switched over to more reusable goods. We use cloth diapers for our two youngest. I'd like to switch to more cloth in the kitchen, but just haven't had the time to get it all made up--unpaper towels and napkins. I've made some flannel hankies, but not enough to deal with a cold--only enough for every day sort of nose-blowing.
I love the current softie dolls trend. I also think cupcakes, gnomes, Russian nesting dolls, little birds, monkeys, toadstools, and turtles are unbearably cute. Little amigurumi animals are so sweet they make me wish I knew how to crochet. I like little notebooks with bright and pretty designs and pens with pretty colored inks.
Please don't send religious or holiday items, wiccan or pagan items, political items, things with spiders, Harry Potter items, Bratz dolls, heavily perfumed items, skull items.

I think it is really crappy that you flaked on your two partners for the Nursery Rhyme Dotee swaps...I just can't image receiving something and not feeling like "I" should fullfill "my" end of the swap!

Hope you enjoy the Laura Childs tea mysteries. There are quite a few of them in the series. The latest are in hardback.
I love your little Etsy shop, and I'd love to see you in my March Swap your Shop. Check it out if you'd like!
