I'm a full-time Information Systems student and part-time cake-crazed baker in Christchurch, New Zealand. I enjoy playing in the kitchen, particularly with sweet things. I also dance salsa, and spend lots of time in classes at the gym (to counteract the sweets!).
I'm vegetarian, but not particularly strict - I stopped eating meat about three years ago and feel much healthier for it, so am loathe to start again!
My partner and I enjoy House, Boston Legal and Battlestar Galactica (he twists my arm a bit for the last one, but I am a bit hooked now...). Also, Flight of the Conchords is great! And a New Zealand show taking on the world - remarkable!
I love reading all sorts - Jodi Picoult is one of my favourite fiction authors, as she keeps vivid characterisation going while working in her twists. I also enjoy reading non-fiction, especially topical educational kinda stuff - Freakonomics is a great example of one of my favourites here! Of course, life is too busy to spend much time curled up with a book these days!
My cakes are the number one crafty thing I do these days, but I've dabbled in scrapbooking and cardmaking, and used to do a heap of sewing back in the day. Now these skills get reserved for special occasions... And I spend almost all my time in the kitchen. If you're interested in such things, take a look at my blog - www.cakesbyrosa.wordpress.com. :-)
Things I'd love to receive:
Anything chocolate
Baking related stuff
Cupcake papers or sprinkles
Interesting candy
Writing paper/cards and envelopes
Pretty ribbons
Cake/baking/candy-making magazines (hard to come by here in New Zealand!)
Your tried-and-true recipes, especially for cakes, icing and baked goods
I would LOVE chocolate transfer sheets to play with - don't know how readily available they are or how well they'd ship but desperately want to try them out, and short of buying a bulk lot and paying a premium in shipping I can't get a hold of them...
My favourite colour is green, although I'm not really that particular - but if it's a colour-based swap, green is it! :-)
Things I'm not so keen on:
Coffee (although coffee-flavoured things are okay - weirdly, I love chocolate coffee beans!)
Tea (wouldn't make it through customs anyway)
I'm not fussy, really - a few ideas there, but I love getting mail and anything will be exciting! And if you're swapping/sending me stuff, thank you in advance! :-)

Hi Rosa,
I'm glad the chocolate arrived safely, because I started to worry : they travelled for almost a month ! I guess they took the scenic route :oP
I'm glad to hear that the Geisha choc bars got to you okay and we're to your liking ^_^
for the 3 (!) tablets of chocolate that arrived today. I hope my package will arrive soon in your mailbox too !
Great white and lemon chocolate-thank you so much, I'm trying to limit myself to one square but it's hard!!!
I know and i apologise. Believe me if i could find something decent that was actually made here, i would of sent that instead.
That's quite alright! I'm just glad you got it :) xx
Hi there, I sent you a wish a month ago and can't seem to find a post from you about it in the Wishes Granted (the generic one that's been closed) thread in the Wishlist Group. Have you received anything or did the postbox eat the parcel? :( It'd be great to let me know either by message or by posting on my profile. I really want you to get something! x
Thank you for the UK and NZ chocolate for the wishlist yum!
