I'm not a very "chatty" person, so I won't bore you with a lot of personal details. I'm a high school English teacher at a Christian school in Oregon--love my job, my cats, and goats! I'm a dancer (ballet, modern, lyrical) and I enjoy gardening--flowers, especially. I do a variety of art, including altered books, chunky books, ATC's, hand-made cards, collage, stamping, beeswax techniques, mixed media, etc.
I'm a book reviewer for the Christian Library Journal magazine. My favorite books genres include science fiction, the classics, quality contemporary fiction, and Christian fiction. I have similar movie tastes, although I don't watch movies much. I tend toward the classics or sci-fi stuff--Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, Avatar, Shakespeare, quality/literary movies etc.
I pledge to be faithful with sending and rating my swaps. I prefer not to receive any extras UNLESS it's artwork, or something related to my profile. I have so much stuff I'd rather not accumulate more items that I may not end up liking/using. If there's a problem with any of my swaps, PLEASE let me know before rating me, and I will make it right!
Please don't consider this a "gimme-gimmie" list! Hopefully it will simply help you know me better as an artist, and what my interests are! I know they're pretty specific, but I've managed to collect so many things already (as we artists tend to do!) I figured I'd list the specific things I would really love/use in my artwork:
ATC's in these themes: goats!; birds; classical dance; small or whimisical houses; botanical themes; butterflies; windows/doors/arches/architecture; beautiful vintage ladies; "non-disneyfied" fairy tales/nursery rhymes; ladies painted by Dante Rossetti
Used postage stamps: flowers, animals, butterflies, cool "art" stamps
Warm colors are my favorite (yellow, melon, tangerine, poppy, rust, etc.), but I'm up for pretty much anything
Teal/sea-foam green napkins/images/papers for a large mixed-media project I'm working on. Teal with chocolate colors are good too. Vintage looking? Botanicals, nature? Not really sure where I'm going with this yet, so I'm open to suggestion. :) Images can be large, too, since this will be a decent-sized piece to hang on the wall above my bed.
Vintage playing cards with cool art/pictures on them
German foil/scrap (especially blue or chocolate border trims, or wings in any color, but pretty much anything would be faulous!)
Paper doll faces, or anything else for making my own paper dolls
Prismacolor pencils in red, pink, or black
Rub-ons (non-cutesey images, nature, or decorative flourishes etc.)
Interesting fibers, ric-rac, mini pom-poms trim, etc.
Flat wooden embellishments
Pretty deco tape, tissue tape, washi tape, or paper lace/borders (non-kawaii)
Pieces of mica
Pretty/fancy prima flowers (or similar)--esp. the patterened ones
Vintage/shabby chic images or ephemera (real or fake)--beautiful ladies, travel, sewing/fashion, Asian, etc.
Cavalini paper/notecards/images/ephemera (or similar)
Vintage botanical images/papers
Art Chix images/ephemera (or similar)
Bird/nest/birdcage images or ephemera
Velvet ribbon, crushed velvet ribbon, or pieces of velvet fabric (no wired ribbon, please)
Small paper doilies (3" or so)
Paper with small floral prints
Gorgeous napkins for collage (esp. birds, botanical, floral, vintage)
Patterned ribbon or fancy buttons
Personalized address labels (goats!)
Nothing too cutesy/frou-frou (Hello Kitty, really girly stuff, etc.), "dark", or sexy/risque; (family friendly images please!); no Halloween or pagan items etc.

I got the eggs today! Wow - that was fast!
They're fantastic! Thank you so much for geeking it up for me! You have no idea what a huge proud nerd I am. :) My roommate watched me open it and said, "Yep, that's definitely for you." :D I really like what you did with the nest, that is very cool. The dino egg is, of course, awesome. But my very favorite is Canis Major. That one is very special. <3 They're all going up for display someplace special. Thank you very much for doing this swap with me. I could not have gotten a better partner.
Cheers!
Glad you like the cards I ordered for you. They looked neat and I thought a variety would be useful.
Punchies showed up, thank you so much, these are perfect! I can totally use the partials, too. I'm still completely jealous of that punch! Wish I could find one like it. Thanks for indulging me! <3
