I have started posting pictures of what I send for my Swaps (most of the time)(and what I receive) on Flickr-so don't look if you like surprises!
It is very important to me to send my Swaps ON TIME, (I usually will send before the deadline). I also ALWAYS rate.
I really don't mean for this to sound harsh, I have had several swaps where my partners have stated more than once how much work they put into the swap-I wouldn't expect anything less than that-as every swap I send out is the at my best-and I would hope everyone elses is too...
Historical fiction, some Sci Fi, fantasy, humor, I'll admit it... an occassional romance novel. Old John Grisham books (not new stuff), Anything CS Lewis. I LOVE reading through cookbooks! I will read many of the book club circuit books-to make me read things I otherwise wouldn't- I love collecting old books-antique and vintage. Recent Reads:
Ok, I will admit I have succumbed to the 'Twilight' madness and have read the whole series, in two weeks...
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
The Red Tent
Stiff
Ender's Game
Those Who Save Us
Why does it take so long for us to figure ourselves out? I am in my forties, best time of my life-I finally figured out what I like and what I'm good at. I love to try and learn new things. I care less and less every day what other people think (it takes awhile!) Got married really young, still married to the same guy-happily I might add. One of my favorite pass times is meandering through flea markets and antique stores for hours and hours (doesn't get to happen very often!) with my dad.
On an interesting note, (or not!) I was a 'pastor's wife' for 18 years. My husband and I mosty did what's called 'church planting'. My husband is no longer a minister-long story! Needless to say my life changed quite dramatically - and a new chapter has begun in our life-which is a good thing.
I love to travel-although I haven't been able to do much outside of US. My oldest daughter lives in the Pacific NW-love it there. I have done quite a bit of traveling through out the US. I did visit Ireland a few years ago-LOVED it-
I like any craft where I can use the 'stuff' I have been accumulating all these years (see below Favorite schtuff)-I have experimented with soldering-love that-Just bought a bunch of hot fix Swarovski crystals and an applicator-FUN! Decorating cigar boxes, jars, weird little containers...
Making May baskets every May 1st for my friends.
I usually have about 3 or 4 things going on at once in my studio...sometimes more

I've always been a collector...old keys, old postcards, old magazines (anything before 1960) foreign coins and ephemera, letters, glass door knobs, phonograph records from the early 1900's (for altering)(I have several of these), antique pane windows-also for altering, old sheet music, charms, lady bugs, sparkley pretty things, unique vintage buttons and antique buttons, cigar boxes, vintage fabric, vintage accessories (gloves, eyeglasses, fun jewelry, purses, feminine hankies etc.), cool bottles/jars, vintage nature pics, stuff from the depths of my mother and grandmother's old trunks..you name it!
Newer stuff too...

I love tea time, and enjoy putting on tea for friends.
Dark chocolate-any percentage of 'dark'
Enjoy good coffee (not flavored) and a nice strong frothy cappuccino
International ephemera-anything else from other countries that reflects their culture and history. If I am in an international swap, I would LOVE to get items reflective of where my swap partner is from. I would love to have coins from other countries (of course the smallest denominations : )...
I have pretty eclectic tastes. I love classical, 70's rock, jazz, blues, some country, big band, alternative, instrumental piano and guitar. Some of my favs: Creedence Clearwater Revival, Jimmy Rogers, Eagles, Dave Matthews, Bob Seger, Simon/Garfunkle, Sarah McLachlan
