Hello, My name is Jaclyn, I'm 28, a Christian and live just outside of Grand Rapids Michigan with my parents and sister. We have 1 dog and 2 cats. Cat's are my favorite. I have lived in a few other states and have enjoyed being able to experience different areas and ways of life. For most of my life I have dealt with chronic pain, which has made it hard for me to be out on my own. I hope one day soon this will happen! I have been pen palling since I was 6 1/2 years old. I love anything that has to do with snail mail and swapping. I have been swapping for many years now and I used to be in a lot of swapping groups. After a while I felt like I needed a break, but now I'm ready to get back into swapping. I have heard of swap-bot years ago from a pen pal, just never gave it a try until now.
I'm an introvert, so find my best way of communicating is through letters and one on one.
As of January 2018 I opened a shop on Etsy called, Leaving a Paper Trail. I have put together some themed paper craft packs and hope to add more items soon. I'm very excited to be doing this!
Note: I can easily get lighthouse postcards, so if anyone wants to do a private swap I'll gladly take lighthouse postcards in return or something else from my likes list.
I am a HUGE reader and have been since I could read. Each week I try to read at least 2 books. My favorite genres are: Christian Fiction, Historical Fiction, Mysteries, Regency Era, Classics, Biographies,
Jane Peart (her mystery series)
I usually don't read all the books an author writes, as a lot of them can be too romantic and predictable for my taste. The more unpredictable the better, because I like to figure things out when I read.
I adore classics, musicals, Hallmarks, Christian and mystery movies! Doris Day is my favorite actress with my favorite movie of hers being Calamity Jane. I also like Audrey Hepburn and Jimmy Stuart. Am also a huge fan of Anne of Green Gables.
I do not have cable, so do not watch many TV series. How glad I am for Amazon instant. My most favorite TV series to watch is Signed, Sealed, Delivered, which combines faith, letters and mysteries. What a perfect combination! Only thing that is missing is tea. :) I also love Christy, Road to Avonlea, Larkrise to Candleford, Austentatious, Sue Thomas: F.B. Eye, Victoria and mini BBC series.
I'm not a big crafty person, probably because I am a perfectionist. However, I have recently been into making my own postcards, mail art and pocket letters. I find I really enjoy doing this. I admire crafty/creative people, so don't be afraid to send me handmade items.
When you send me a swap and a note isn't required, I would LOVE one! Even if it's just to say 'hi.' I put a lot of time and effort into decorating my envelopes, so would enjoy seeing others handiwork as well, even if a decorated envelope is not required. Also, I would love to have postage stamps instead of the label on my swaps whenever possible. I like to collect them and use them for future crafts.
Here is a list of the things I like:
Stickers (especially ones that have to do with mail)
Book Pages (English & Foreign)
Glitter - as long as it doesn't fall off and get on everything
Touristy & Non-Touristy postcards
Recipes (especially desserts)
Washi/Deco Tape samples/rolls
Envelopes (mini, but other sizes are great too)
Nautical things (especially lighthouses)
Flowers (especially roses, tulips and pansies)
Black & White
Delft/Swedish/Nordic looking things
Postage Stamps (new, used & vintage)
Animals (especially cats, sheep, pandas and birds)
Gel Pens (especially gelly roll)
Anything having to do with England (especially Cath Kidston)
Items that have strawberries, apples or cherries on them
Pink, a little :)
I love tea and drink it every day. I mostly drink loose tea, but also use tea bags.
Green (hojicha and flavored, no plain please)
White (only flavored, no plain please)
I would LOVE to try vanilla rose as rose is one of my most favorite flavors.
I Also like:
Fruits (no herbal please)
Berries (no herbal please)
Honey - allergic
Chamomile - allergic
Mint - allergic (weird allergy, I know. haha)
Black Tea, but it's okay to send me this if you don't have any other kind.
Nuts, except for almonds
Make-up, unless it's organic
Jewelry, unless it's sterling silver or gold
I am very appreciative of swaps and I'm not too picky, but these are a few things I do not care for:
Dark or evil looking items
Things that smell like cigarette smoke
I'm open to private swaps and prefer this to public swaps. Feel free to message me if you'd like to swap privately.
I only mark a swap as sent after I have mailed it. Please let me know if my swap is not received. I always send things out on time, so if there is a problem please let me know before rating me down. I have no intention of flaking EVER! And I'm happy to re-send if need be.
Also, I promise to rate every time I receive a swap, usually the day it arrives. When I rate a heart I base it off the thoughtfulness of the swap. If it looks like it was just thrown together without any care then I will rate a 5.
