I am married and I have a 8 month old son. I used to work as a computer support person but since the birth of my son I have become a stay at home mom. (I am surprised at how much time it takes to keep a baby and entertained!)
I received a Kindle for my birthday last year and in between general household chores, time with my son, and sewing, I love to read on my Kindle.
My husband works in the video game industry and we are both avid gamers. We have a Xbox 360, a Wii and a PS3. My new favorite game has been Little Big Planet for the PS3. It feels like digital crafting with all the costume customization you can do with Sack Boy.
Like every crafter out on the web, I like to dabble in a little bit of everything.
I learned to sew from my Grandma at age 12. I have recently returned to sewing and it's my new favorite hobby. I LOVE to sew purses and bags - really anything small that I can complete quickly. Amy Butler is my current fav fabric designer.
I have recently learned to quilt as well. I belong to a block of the month club at a nearby quilt shop where we sew one new quilt block each month. It is a great way to learn new techniques and have a finished quilt at the end of it all!
I also enjoy crochet and knitting - although I am a only a novice knitter and not ready to start making clothing yet.
My favorite color is brown. A nice deep rich brown, although I love all shades of brown.
I also like reds and blues. In all honesty - I'm not that picky when it comes to colors. I just pick colors I like at the time I am starting a project.
I plan to make a swap-bot quilt from blocks I've received in swaps.
The color scheme for this quilt is black, white and red. I would love to receive blocks using this color theme!
Feel free to put your name and city or state on the blocks in any method you prefer. (Totally up to you if you want to do this!)
I am really excited about the quilt block swaps! yeah!
