So, here’s a bit about me....
I joined swap-bot in August 2008, and I'm having a blast. I have met many new people with similar interests, and have even tried a few new things outside my "craft comfort zone". I am continually amazed by the talented people I receive swaps from. And grateful for the friends I have met through this group.
I am married for 36 years to a great guy who doesn’t “get” why I love crafts, but puts up with it anyway. We have four grown (pretty much, anyway) children, a golden retriever named Sandy, and a cat named Sweetie Pie. On 10/20/09 we put our little Sweetie Pie down. It was very hard for all of us.
We live in the suburbs of Chicago. I grew up here and love having all four seasons. My favorite time of year is late fall through the holidays. I enjoy sitting in front of a nice cozy fire with a project and a mug of hot chocolate. Once it gets cool, I love to cook – comfort foods like brownies, easy breads, homemade muffins and homemade soups.
I am very traditional in taste. Just about anything Mary Engelbreit makes me happy. And I believe in guardian angels.
I have ALWAYS loved anything sewing related, and my current passions are quilting, paper piecing, craft sewing and machine embroidery (which I am just learning). I’ll admit it - I do LOVE fabric – especially 100% cottons for quilting. My husband thinks I have way too much fabric, but that can’t be true because there is still space in my sewing room.
ALL ABOUT FABRICS: MY FAVORITES (100% cotton quilt shop quality, please) I love cool colors, and cheery pastel yellows. I also love 1930s reproductions, Batiks, and most fabrics by RJR, Kaufman and Moda.
FABRICS I REALLY DON’T CARE FOR: Kaffe Fassett, large scale prints, oranges/golds/browns, black & whites.
CRAFTS THAT I DON’T HAVE ANY INTEREST IN: Scrapbooking, Stickers, ATC
Definitely, chick flicks – Pretty Woman, Ghost, Sweet Home Alabama, Coyote Ugly, Grease, Dirty Dancing.
Don’t watch much, but…Greys Anatomy, HGTV, Hallmark Channel movies, quilt shows and sometimes Oprah.
I am currently making several Quilt for a Cure quilts - so I would especially love to receive cheerful pink fabrics.
I take this seriously - I do not flake, and I usually send out my swaps way before the deadline. If there's a problem, I will try to be in contact with my partner. I try to rate others as soon as I receive a swap, and I try to make every swap I send out equal to one that I would love to receive. If there is a problem, or if by chance I have forgotten to rate you, please let me know. I assure you it was unintentional.
