I rate the same day I receive your swaps, so if I haven't rated you, it means I haven't received anything.
If you have not received a swap from me within a reasonable amount of time after I have marked it as "sent," PLEASE PM ME and let me know so I can resend. The correct and polite way to bring that to my attention is not to leave a comment on my profile and add me to your list of late senders and flakers, but to send me a private message and let me make up for the post office's loss. I've moved to Alaska and while our mail is usually pretty prompt, sometimes things can take a bit longer than I'd like.
Now, on to the regular profile stuff:
I'm a home maker who enjoys cake and cookie decorating, knitting, sewing, chocolate, and reading. I'm a former cake decorating instructor and a competition cake decorator. My favorite color is a minty green, but I also like lavender. I collect wind-up toys (the small novelty kind that usually make stocking stuffers or Easter basket stuffers). I've recently discovered postcards and I'm completely hooked on them! I'd love one from where you live!
I reuse packaging when I can.
Everyone in my household enjoys chocolate of any kind, and we like to taste local favorites from other places. My son really likes Asian snacks. We drink a LOT of tea and now that it's getting colder (this is Alaska, after all) we're drinking a lot more hot cocoa. Ginger is a favorite flavor around our house, too, in both snacks and drinks.
Must knit! Must knit! It's a compulsion right now! The onset of cooler weather brings out the obsessive need to have my needles in my hands and a wooly project dangling from them. Most years I knit as many mittens as I can for my best friend, but this year seems like all I want to do is knit hats. Too bad I look awful in them... but I wear them anyway!
I also sew from time to time, so fat quarters are welcome. :^)
Minty green colors (but no neon or day-glo green);
lavender colors;
retro 40s or 50s things;
kitchen stuff;
wind-up toys;
books about cake decorating;
cupcake sprinkles;
postcards, especially funny or retro ones
PLEASE, no opened food items or loose tea!
No goth or skull themes;
R-rated things (keep it kid friendly, please)
This is by no means a demand for you to pick something to send from this list, but something to maybe help you if you want to know what I'm most interested in at the moment:
KINDER EGGS! If you want to do a private swap for Kinder eggs, please let me know.
50s kitchen stuff;
self-striping sock yarn (does not have to be full skeins, because I'll use even smallish amounts);
unusual cupcake sprinkles;
pretty green fabrics;
Wade figures
But please, no open packages of food! I had to throw away much of what I received in a swap because it was food that had been opened.
I live in a small town in Alaska, and getting some items requires a nearly-four-hour one-way trip into Anchorage. If you can help me out with any of the following things, it'd be awesome.
Bento items.
An Asian hard candy that's individually wrapped, looks like a marble, and comes in flavors like melon, walnut and plum. The wrapper is in a language I can't read so I don't know the brand. I got some in a Wishlist wish and my son is crazy about it and I'd love more. Thanks!
Cinnamon Mentos. I absolutely can't find that flavor here. When I lived in the South, I could get them at Dollar General.
Andes mints.
Kinder eggs. I'd love to give those for Christmas and would do a private trade to get some.
Not in any tags at this moment... But am sending out wishes in the Cheap Postage Group's wishlist, as well as the Wishlist Group! They both rock!
My husband and 18-year-old son both like to see what I get in my swaps, so if you are looking for a "profile surprise" to send and can't find anything you feel like sending to me, they'd love to have a surprise! They both like fishing, computers, being outdoors, and fun foods. They like tea of any kind (as long as it's wrapped tea bags and not loose tea). My son likes dragons and my husband likes huskies. I also have three dogs. Tate is a 12-year-old boxer mix, Belle is a 10-year-old retired husky sled dog, and Moya is a husky mix puppy. They like food and toys. :^)
Remember, I live in Alaska! Sometimes mail from here can take up to three weeks to get where it's going, although that's rare. If you haven't gotten your package from me within two weeks of when I marked it as sent, I'd be quite grateful if you'd bring that to my attention so I can check on things. I don't want anyone missing out on their mail!
