Hi there!
I'm an 18 year old from Christchurch, New Zealand, though I live in Wellington for university. I'm a first year, studying Spanish, Japanese, Latin and Photography. I love things involving foreign languages or English grammar (I LOVE grammar). When I'm not trying to speak other languages, I like to sew, quilt, and bookbind (though I'm a novice bookmaker, at best). I love fabric and clothes, and seem to be unable to visit a fabric shop (including online) without buying something - oh dear!! I love reading, and do A LOT of it - approx. 4 hours, most days.
I'm a catholic, but an Irish one, so don't stress it :) My favourite colours are navy blue, grey, and beige at the moment, but I'm not as boring as that would suggest!
I love sending and receiving snailmail and packages - so this site is perfect!
NOTE: Since I live in New Zealand, which is waaaay over in a far off corner of the world for most of you, my package may sometimes take a while to arrive - don't worry, it IS coming, I promise!
I will read anything, and probably enjoy it, however I have a rather large obsession with Jane Austen, in particular Pride & Prejudice and Persuasion. I also like the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer.
I watch Bones, CSI/CSI NY, Rove (an Australian comedic current events show) and Project Runway.
I like to sew (both clothes and objects), which is my main craft. I'm also halfway through hand-quilting my first quilt, and I dabble in book binding.
Anything Jane Austen (including Becoming Jane), The History Boys, Oceans 11, Romeo and Juliet.
I generally like music as long as it's not country and western, rap, or hip-hop. I also don't like bands such as MCR, The Used, etc. Apart from that anything (including but not limited to Death Cab for Cutie, Thomas Tallis, Benjamin Britten, Erma Franklin, Carol King and Jethro Tull) goes!
In general I prefer natural fibres over synthetic, especially cotton and linen, but it's not a hard-and-fast rule.
I don't use many knits, as I sew with wovens pretty much exclusively, so I'd prefer woven fabrics in swaps, where possible.
I don't like cartoon characters/illustrations on my fabric, please :)
