I Craft something almost every day! I have a quilting business and have published books and patterns on quilting. I have also been featured on PBS Fons and Porter Love of Quilting so this is a pretty serious interest of mine. I teach different types of classes and have an online shop. You can learn more at my website. www.feliciasworld.com
My new addiction is Paper crafts: Journaling, bookbinding, drawing and doodling. My washi tape collection is growing at an alarming rate.
Also fond of gardening both outside and in my window sill. I live in Phoenix so we can have some sort of veggie garden going almost all year round.
I am a mother, animal lover, and gardener with a passion for crafts, art, meditation, reading and tai chi.
I have 3 spoiled cats. All rescues.
Love to travel when possible.
My favorite beverages are Chinese estate specific artisanal green teas (yes I am a bit of a snob about this). I also love Earl Grey, Chai, and and sometimes herbal teas. I can't stomach Roibus tea. I wish I could find a good rose-hip tea here in the US. Not in a mix, but the pure thing. Also love red wine (not nearly as snobby about the wine as the tea :) Good quality hot chocoloate. Chocolate in general is one of the foods that make the world go round.
Jane Austin, Barbara Kingsolver, Jodi Picoult are amongst my favorites.
Also LOVE historical crime novels, Especially set in England during the Regency or Victorian eras. I will admit do enjoying historical romance on and off. I really enjoyed the first few Outlander novels, and I love Susanna Kearsley novels.
I lean mostly towards ambient music, quiet classical, and kind of new-age-ish music. I like Liquid Mind, and flute music a lot. It is easy to work with.
I also have a penchant for Cold Play and other pop/rock that leans over into the Alternative and singer-Songwriter category. Lesser known artists are Xavier Rudd and G. Love
In the car things are totally different and we all rock out and dance to Shakira, Rhianna, Pitbull, and whatever else have lots of energy to it.
I LOVE Gorjuss (its like Holly Hobby all over again) I can't explain what it is about them, but I find them to be totally irresistible and I worry that I will turn into a weird collector. Anything Studio Ghibli (Totoro), Garden seeds, Paper ephemera, Journaling Cards (Project Life), Kawaii, Stickers, Hello Kitty, My Melody, Little Twin Stars, Tim holtz paper crafts, MAMBI paper crafts, Christmas, Japanese and Chinese inspired items, pieces of vintage fabrics, Chocolate, Coffee, Project life, Vintage Lace, Die cuts, Nature related themes, Butterflies, Flowers, and Bugs, Halloween, Folk art, Primitive art, Rustic art, Stick on gems and enamel dots,
As far as my quilting style: I love applique and I love Paper piecing. I do both hand and machine work. I also love English Paper piecing. I love modern fabric like Anna Maria Horner, Cotton and Steel, Heather Ross, Alison Glass, and Art Gallery fabrics. I work a bit with Japanese Taupes like Daiwabo and Lescien. I regularly sell my soul for Liberty of London fabric :) I am no fan of batiks but I seem to collect feed sack, 30's reproductions, civil war reproductions etc. I am really eclectic, just not batiks and also not a fan of really traditional large prints or novelty prints unless mentioned above.
Hershey chocolate, Skittles/Starburst and other overly sugary candy, Disney anything, Roibush tea, Nascar, Sports related themes, Baby related themes, Americana, Religious items (except Buddhist and Victorian and naive images of angels)
Lately I have been receiving home printed paper ephemera and journaling cards. Though I appreciate the sentiments I don't really enjoy getting these home printed items as the print and paper quality is usually poor with lines and low color saturation. I wouldn't incorporate them into my own crafts.
I enjoy getting hand made items if it is well made and beautiful. I am not impressed by thoughtless sticker slapping and washi tape wrapping unless it is just the envelope.
I really want you to be happy with the swaps that I send out. Know that I always read your profile and then assemble my swaps accordingly. I usually include a little extra because I hope that you will smile an be surprised.
If you have not received a swap on time, please contact me. I am a rather conscientious person so if a swap is late to reach you, it is unlikely to be on my end. I will happily resend if a swap gets lost.
