My name is Arcadia and I'm from Wichita Kansas which is in the United States and very famous for The Wizard of Oz. I am a stylist and I like that. Mostly.
I'm very interested in things of a strange nature. For instance, Tarot cards and taxidermy. I used to be engaged to a guy who's family sells foam weapons at the Renaissance Faire (barbarian battles) and now, I'm in love with a guy who lets me wear his pajama pants and knows how to play keyboards.
I think someday I would like to be able to sing properly in front of people without being ridiculously drunk on karaoke night. I would also like to learn how to organize properly. Something tells me that putting the granola bars behind the cereal boxes isn't really proper...
I've always wanted to be taller and Japanese. I just learned how to crochet and, I'm doing a dang good job of it!
I think that the best boy name for a cat would be Dr. Maximus.
I'm into one type of music and, it's the kind I like. I'm used to people judging me on what kind of music I like so I'm not going to list anything.
NOTE!!! I SMOKE AND HAVE CATS!
The best book I ever read was 'Off The Map' which was about two ladies who went backpacking off in Europe. I never been out of the US so, reading their adventure was probably the closest I'll ever get. However! 'Lonely Planet Guide to Experimental Travel' really helped that feeling.
I also like Alice Hoffman, Ayn Rand, Anne Rice, Thomas Pynchon, Clive Barker, Garth Nix, Neil Gaiman, J. K. Rowling and Mercedes Lackey's older work. Creepy children's books are kind of a love affair. Especially Coraline, Wolves in the Walls, The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy, Shel Silverstein's work, and Where the Wild Things Are.
I think Sandman was the greatest Comic book series ever.
This is where I set the record straight! If up until this point you thought I was of the 'goth' persuasion you were wrong! I hate horror movies! And this decidedly makes me very ungoth. Yes, ungoth.
I do love kids movies but, none of the actual 'toys' and things having to do with them. The Last Unicorn, Little Nemo Adventures in Slumber Land, and The Dark Crystal are my absolute favorites.
Pushing Daisies is probably the most adorable show I've ever seen in my entire life. I hope that one day I too will be able to only wear 50's dresses. Anything by Joss Whedon or Bryan Fuller I will watch endlessly. I am especially looking for any Niagara Falls souvenirs that will talk to me.
I also really dig The Elegant Universe series that has been on PBS' Nova. Actually, I love Nova in general. I dig learning alot.
I do lots and lots and loads of crafts. If you're looking for some kind of 'extra' to send me, send me something on a really odd craft, or something for bookbinding. I love the coptic stitch but, am terrible at it!
I will like anything that is new, different, interesting and informative. I do like other people's ideas a lot and, would be happy if you just sent me instructions on how you file your toe nails. I'm not picky unless otherwise stated (i.e. the music thing..) but, I do prefer to have my opinions respected. That means, please don't send me anything political, religious or soap-on-a-rope. I find them intrusive.
Thanks! Arcadia
It has come to my attention that I'm terrible at writing letters. Let's not write letters to each other okay??
Also, please, whenever you participate in a swap do yourself and your partner a favor and read their profile. It's very nice of you and, even if you're broke, atleast you can get some things that relate to them from the dollar store. Feel free to message me if you get me as a partner!!! I'm a bit of a chatter box and am willing to talk your head off. NBD! No big deal. Promise.
-No Thanks!-

Hey there, we are in the One-On-One traders group together. I see you enjoy recipes, if you ever want to trade, let me know! :)
Hey girl! Thanks for joining my swap, I am so flattered! It should be interesting! Take care of you! See ya later, Sherie.
Hey there sweetie! Just wanted to say hi and hope you check out my movie swap! Chris is going to start swapping soon too, yay! Miss you let's try to get together sometime soon!
Boomshine is a wicked wicked game... and so pretty...
Needle felting critters is really fun. Check out wool pets - she has great directions in her book & kits. She kinda breaks it down like this - if you can make a figure with clay by building its individual shapes, you can do it with wool. Instead of squishing together clay, you are stabbing together (felting with the scary barbed needle) wool shapes. Try it!
Hey, you craft foam junkie - I don't know if you have a JoAnn's near you, but according to the flyer I got in tha mail, it's on sale this week. Thought about you when I was getting felt this morning.

You need to live on the western U.S. here it's weird if you don't listen to it.
And you're wrong about your writing skills, your profile is amazing. I want to read 'Off the Map' so badly now!
Unless the only music you like is Gwar I wouldn't think weirdly about you at all. :P
