I'm a 22 years old female college student from Portugal. I'm studying Pharmaceutical Sciences and (hopefully) will be done with classes this year.
I love sending and receiving mail.
I crochet, knit and do some cross stitching and that's the extent of my crafty ways.
I like to collect postcards, cooking and baking, watch movies and TV.
My favorite postcards are map cards, cards showing cities, landscapes, monuments or Unesco WHS - basically, turistic postcards.
IMPORTANT please, always put your username and swap name on postcards you send me. Besides being a member of Postcrossing, I also sometimes join more then one swap at the same time, and I don't have the patience to sort out unidentified postcards.
I probably watch too many TV, but I like good shows with good stories and well developed characters and there's been a lot of those lately.
Anyway, here's a list of some of my favorites:
Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, How I met your mother, The Big Bang Theory, Dexter, House, Lost, Supernatural, Pushing Daisies, Frasier, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Firefly, Friends, CSI Las Vegas
I prefer fantasy and literature classics (if they survive the passage of time, there's gotta be something good about them)
I'm in love with GRR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series - it's a complex story, with lots of characters and where nothing is black or white, which is what makes it great.
Other authors/series/books I like:
Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett and his Discworld series, JK Rowling and the Harry Potter books, JRR Tolkien, Jane Austen, A brief history of nearly everything by Bill Bryson, Agatha Christie - esp. Miss Marple, Dorothy L. Sayers, Gabriel Garcia Marquez
I really like going to the cinema. My favorite kind of movies are musicals and fantastic/historic:
Mamma Mia!, Moulin Rouge, Pan's Labyrinth, Wall-E, Indiana Jones, Star Wars (the original trilogy), The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Some like it hot, Sweeney Todd, Hairspray, Letters from Iwo Jima, To be or not to be, Ben-Hur
I like classical, opera, musicals, rock and world music
I knit (still only scarves), crochet (I've done quite a few thing, it's very practical to carry around and I can crochet in the train) and cross stitch (well, I started a very big project a couple of years ago, but I think I'll finish next year and then I can do other things)
I also plan on learning to sew one of these days.
Postcards
Craft supplies, like embroidery needles, yarn, crochet and embroidery thread, Aida fabric, linen and cotton cloths.
Recipes, especially for pasta or cakes/desserts
Dark chocolate and candies are always welcome.
Tea, I like all kinds except for the artificially decaffeinated ones.
Anything handmade, I like to see what other people are able to create.
Souvenirs from other countries, decorative things like those little dishes, fridge magnets or thimbles.
Little boxes. You know, those decorative boxes too smal to keep anything? I love them!
Books - I'm looking for books by Dorothy L. Sayers, Terry Pratchett and the Sandman graphic novels by Neil Gaiman. I've kind of give up hope those will be translated into portuguese any time soon.
