Crackbrain Crafter (My Blog)

About Me

Hello! My name is Emily and I reside in California's San Fernando Valley with my wondeful fiance, Sean, and our three feline children. I love being creative and using my hands to make things. I recently started a blog on blogspot called 'Crackbrain Crafter'. Feel free to check it out and learn a little more about me and the things I enjoy. I'm looking forward to meeting some fun and creative people on swap-bot!

For fun, I love...

crocheting, knitting, quilting, sewing, painting, needle felting, paper crafting, working in mixed media art forms, ATCs, talking to my family, cooking, decorating my nest, collecting buttons, reading Somerset Studio Magazine, pretending I'm on Broadway when no one is home!

Musical Inclinations

I love most styles of music...even a polka tune or two! (dont tell my fiance! ;)

Among my favorites are Zoe Keating, George Winston, Rob Dickinson, Tom McRae, Tori Amos, Midori, U2, Hurt, Yo Yo Ma, Bond, Brandi Carlile, Poe, Blue Stone, Benassi Brothers, Achiella, to name a few.

A Few Of My Favorite Things!

Colors: all greens, purples, and oranges, mustard yellow, teal, brown, & pink (who can pick just one?)

Buttons! - Pretty Pens and Markers - ATCs - Flowers - Rainy Days - Vintage Egg Images - Vintage Fabrics - Bird Cages - Pictures (old and new) - Miniatures (animal figurines~especially birds, and doll furniture) - Random Acts Of Kindness - Vintage Oval Picture Frames - Old Keys - Christmas & Christmas Lights - Candles - Insense - Bonne Bell Lip Smacker - Unexpected Calls From Loved Ones - Shoulder Bags & Totes - Rick Rack - Tea & Honey - Vintage Ephemera - Waking Up With All The Cats On The Bed ...

A Few Dislikes

- neon colors - flakers

Things I would love to receive

Aside from anything supply related to the crafts I enjoy - or anything listed in my favorite things I would also LOVE:

Old Issues of Better Homes and Gardens (the older the better) - Bath products from LUSH - Decorative Tissue Papers - Small (1 inch) Saftey Pins - Decorative headed straight pins - Gutermann Polyester Threads - I ALWAYS Love Getting Pretty Pens - Lace And Bead Trims - Funky, Retro, Victorian, and Vintage Repro Fabrics/Fat Quarters - Gossamer Fibers - Art Emboss Metal Sheets - Silverplate Vintage Spoons (no stainless steel) - Small Stretched Canvases (smaller than 4x4) - Wool Roving & Foam Blocks (for needle felting) - Small & Medium Colorful Glass Beads- Handmade Art Dolls - Whole Bean Coffees (in sealed packages) - Teas (loose or bagged - as long as their packaging is sealed) - Stickers (no kid or teacher themes please) - Decorative Tape (all sizes) - Anything you find interesting and would like to share with me!

Just a note:

I take my rating very seriously and I take every swap I join to heart and I try to make it special in some way. If I hit sent and you have not received anything, please contact me... I will always be happy to resend. :)

I always try to make sure I rate people as soon as possible after receiving a swap and I would appreciate the same courtesy. If I owe you a rating please feel free to bring it to my attention!

Comment: Thank you for the cute jar filled with great buttons! Thanks also for the little bag of extras, but they aren't anything I can use, unfortunately.
Response: I'm sorry you cant use them... on your profile I saw "craft or art supplies of any kind" and assumed embellishments were included. Glad you liked the buttons though! :)

Comment: Thanks for the fun jar - I loved the skeleton key and the fun ribbon!! What's the powder in the little plastic pots?
Response: Oh...I can't believe I forgot to include a little note about those! They are powdered pigments... you can apply them to your paintings and collages with a brush and a little sealer (like ceramcoat varnish or liquitex) or you can just use water and seal them in later - they add a nice sparkle! I'm so glad you liked your jar! :)
