I am very excited to be a member of swap-bot! I must say thanks to my buddy in Toronto who told me about this neat idea and that she gets mail almost every day - wow, who doesn't love mail! (Unless it's a bill, of course)

A little bit about me... well, I'm a French teacher by day, and I love speaking and writing in French and traveling to Paris, where I used to live for 3 years, but moved back to Canada when I realized the man that I was going to marry had been in my hometown waiting for me all along. (We've now been married for almost 5 years and counting...and we just had our first baby on June 3, 2009. So now I'm a wife AND a Mommy! Yay!)

When I'm not teaching or marking, I'm usually watching a movie, I go to the theater at least once every weekend. (I also keep a journal of all the movies I see or rent and rate them on a scale of 1 to 5!) Some of my favorite movies are Saving Private Ryan, Gladiator, The Departed and most recently WallE and the French film "Ils" which scared the bleep out of me!

I love to read and buy books. I just wish that I could read faster because the list of books that I want to read feels like it's longer that the list of book that I've actually finished! Recent reads are The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett which I really enjoyed, and another fav is Between A Rock and a Hard Place by Aron Ralson. I really like crazy adventure/survival stories and memoir/biographies. I also just finished reading The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon and it was wonderful and so moving. I highly recommend it! I also just read "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult and I'm working my way through the "What to expect when you're expecting" books.

Anything by The Arcade Fire, Coldplay, (I've seen both of these bands live and they were amazing), Keane, Eurodance, electronic and techno music, anything that gets by heart pumping when I need to work out.

Some of you may wonder why I picked "fairyprincess" as my user name... well, I'm a Sex In the City fan, and in one episode Charlotte was telling her husband, Trey about her fantasies, and she started off by saying, "I'm a fairyprincess..." I thought this was hilarious, and so did my husband, so when I was signing up for swapbot and I said I needed a user name, my hubby suggested "fairyprincess"! and voilà! (I didn't pick it because I'm into fairies or princesses, just to let you know, tee hee!)
