UPDATE: I might be late sending some swaps since I've found myself TERRIFIED to go to the post office. I've ordered a scale from stamps.com and will begin sending once it arrives and I can print postage.
The scale arrived a couple of days ago and so far I can only print flat postage. :/ Calling em Monday and we'll see cause the post office is not an option..
I'm a writer and artist who has lived all over including San Francisco and NY to name a few. When I was younger, I was obsessed with foreign films. I was in grad school at an art school for creative writing and was in the running to teach English at NAU in exchange for tuition free graduate studies and to maybe eventually become a professor. That didn't work out (but I'm not completely ruling it out for the future since I was SO close - but it wouldn't be this year) so I might pursue teaching high school English. But that is not where my heart is at all. :/ And I struggle with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and can't really do much. I love upscale thrift stores, debating feminism, discussing gender and depictions of women.
My nephew Mike Williams has photographed for Vogue! He's also had a lot of other projects that some have heard about.

And for a brief time I had art studio space at JG Color Studios featured on HGTV! I wasn't on TV though and have no idea if it was before or after I had art space there-- I just know that it happened :) http://www.jgcolorstudios.com
It's kind of a funny story because Jen, the woman who owned it, was actually my neighbor and then years later I found her randomly on Craigslist.
Years ago, I was given space to give psychic readings at a yoga studio and I have Spiritualist certificates from the booming upstate psychic mecca Lily Dale. I have some certificates in teaching Yoga and Reiki and plan to go to a free writing retreat I was offered in Vermont when everything's back to normal. Yoga and writing retreats are MY LIFE.
I also have an interest in martial arts.
Mists of Avalon and King Arthur are my FAVE. In my 20s I lived breathed and ate A Series of Unfortunate Events and Spiderwick Chronicles, so any kind of similar books are welcome. I'm interested in any books A Dark Carnival in Berkeley carries. http://darkcarnival.com/ YA Fiction is also my genre of choice as a writer and I'm always seeking to learn so send those good books my way!
Old book pages, vintage 80s items, bookmarks, game pieces.
But PLEASE no dollar store items or anything that looks dollar storeish. I send nice things in my swaps and appreciate the same. I like unique items.
Angel things... Oracle card decks.
I'm in my late 30s. I have recently miscarried twice so I will appreciate stuff that pertains to that like books on pregnancy or anything pertaining to in vitro fertilization.
Beauty products including lotion are welcome...

Independent movies from the 90s. If you have a DVD that meets this criteria by all means send it. Or whatever your favorite film is! But given that we are all stuck at home I'd love DVDs!
