About Me

I am so excited to have found this site and I can't wait to swap fun stuff with you!!!

I live in London, ON, Canada with my partner of 14 years and my 2 orange kitties, Hazard and Mulligan. I love to cook and try new foods and there is very little that I don't like with the exception of cilantro (which tastes like soap). Also, I am allergic to dairy :(. I will read just about anything I can get my hands on but I really enjoy historical and paranormal romance, graphic novels, fantasy and science fiction. Some of my favourite authors are Douglas Adams, Amanda Quick and Ray Bradbury.

I enjoy many crafts including knitting, crocheting, sewing and scrapbooking. I really like vintage items and images and have recently discovered how to make junk journals and altered books using old books. This newfound hobby led me to this site in the hopes of swapping for some interesting and unique items to add to my homemade journals. Anything goes really but I like all things halloween, steampunk, Alice in Wonderland, zentangles, and homemade. I hate buying things that I can learn to make myself (but don't worry, I'll only send you homemade things if you like them too :).

I like to kayak, hike, garden and love being outside in almost all kinds of weather.

**A note about shipping: Because Canada Post has been known to be slow I will always try to send your swap as soon as possible after receiving your address. Handmade items may take all the time I'm allowed (up to and including the final day but never beyond!) for inspiration to strike though ๐Ÿ˜Š. Just know that I will put a lot of thought into making it something I think you'll love โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ And I hope it'll be worth the wait. As with most people I will mark it as sent when I drop it off at the post office or in the postbox but it won't be post-marked until the next business day if I arrive past the postal cut off time (or in many cases, not at all - most of my Canadian mail comes either untouched or with the stamp scribbled on in pen ๐Ÿ˜ณ). If you don't receive it within a reasonable (international) time, please let me know and I will be happy to resend :)

***Feel free to package swaps together if you have me for more than 1 swap at the same time. As long as it's clear which swap is which, if you can save on postage costs please do!!!

Favorite Crafts

Junk Journals/Altered Books

Beading - although I used to make jewelry, now I mostly just make decorative zipper charms for my sister's sewn creations (wallets, pouches, etc.)

Favourite Animals

Sea Creatures, especially octopuses ๐Ÿ™

Neon colours/most things 80's

Chamomile tea

Religious messages/images (sorry - no offense meant to those that like them!)

"Girly" images - high heels, lipstick, etc unless they are vintage or of the 50's pin-up variety

Although I'd be happy with just about anything, a few items I would love to receive are:

Washi tape - I have a very small collection and would love to add to it. No size is too small! Even a few inches used on an envelope is saved/added to my junk journals.

Stamps - of either the postage or scrapbook images variety. For stamped images: I don't care what kind of ink it was stamped with and am ok with any colours - I like variety. For postage stamps: I don't "collect" them, I just really like them. I don't care if they're perfect - they can be bent, torn, on paper, off, heavily post marked, whatever. I'm just using them for crafting and I think all these things add character!

Punched or die cut items - out of scrapbook paper, book pages, old maps, anything really.

Everything mushroom!!! I โค๏ธ ๐Ÿ„

Items from your hometown/country - ie postcards**, recipes, stamps, dairy-free candy. Part of the reason I'm here is to experience a little bit of the rest of the world, whether through craft supplies, pictures on postcards, or favourite recipes. I studied Foods and Nutrition in school and one of my favourite classes was Food and Culture where for each lab we would choose a culture and create a potluck of dishes to try ๐Ÿ”๐ŸŒฎ๐Ÿ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿฃโ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿฝ. Best lab ever!!! Definitely beat organic chemistry ๐Ÿ˜‚

Any ephemera, doilies (paper or crochet), tags, ribbon, lace, beads, different paper clips, etc for embellishments; Graphic 45 and October Afternoon are particular favourites for scrapbook papers.Tim Holtz is also usually good - I love grungy, steampunk or mixed media type of papers but also love to be taken out of my comfort zone and find uses for things I don't usually use.

Paper napkins/tissue paper with interesting designs or various images for decoupage - vintage fashion, pretty flowers, etc. If sending napkins, feel free to peel away the blank layers and just send the printed ply to save on postage. I usually only use the blank layers as actual napkins anyway ๐Ÿ˜‰

Playing cards with designs/pictures on either side; new or vintage - I love them all.

I enjoy coffee (sometimes flavoured but always black and unsweetened) and most teas, especially Earl Grey and English Breakfast. I prefer my chocolate dark and smooth (but it has to be dairy free - that means whey, modified milk ingredients, etc).

Also, as a special request, my partner collects craft beer coasters - the compressed paper ones like they use in bars - and would be super excited to get one of your local brews ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

**I'd prefer my postcards naked - my favourite part is the message! But, that being said, I'd take a blank one too :)

A Special Request

~March 28, 2017~ I volunteer with a lovely lady with cerebral palsy and we are currently scrapbooking a trip she took to Portugal several years back to visit her family. If you have any Portugal related ephemera, stamps, blank postcards, etc that you could send with my swap you would make both of us very happy! Her name is Sandra and you couldn't find a more deserving recipient for your kindness! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Comment: Hello Sara, Thank you for the 2 ATCs you created, one for the letter "I" and one for the letter "J." I like ideas you chose to represent on your ATCs. I want to also THANK YOU for the postcard, playing cards. I also enjoyed reading your very kind note. I know we have swapped before, but I'm not sure exactly when. Barb sleepingrover2010
Response: I have an Excel spreadsheet where I track all my swaps. It lets me know how many are due in one day and turns an angry red on the due date ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. It's nice for seeing who I've swapped with and what was sent though. I wasnt near my laptop when I wrote to you so didn't check but you sent me the A & B for this swap ๐Ÿ˜

Response: Thank you ๐Ÿ˜˜ I'm glad you liked them ๐Ÿค—. I use to love making cards but kind of stopped when I discovered junk journals...

Comment: Wow what a fantastic envelope full of goodies, the cat stamps are awesome, love the paper clips and extras, Thank You so much!!
Response: I love the crazy cats and never waste an opportunity to use them. At $30 a set they're kind of pricey but I've definitely gotten my money's worth out of them ๐Ÿ˜ I'm glad you enjoy them as well.

Comment: Thank you, I love these cards

CrystalZ rated for junk journal supplies - blue on Jun 10, 2017
Comment: Such an amazing selection of blue goodness! You really spoiled me with this package...you even found some Winnie the Pooh things too cute! I look forward to using the goodies in my future craft projects thank you!
Response: I have these Disney books from when I was a child that have really cool pictures in them cause all the characters are together on the pages. I want to use them in my crafting but they have sentimental value and, because they are in French (I was born in Quebec) are impossible to find. Then I found this English version at the thrift store and was so happy to be able to rip it apart, guilt free, lol. I'm glad you liked your swap ๐Ÿ˜
Comment: Thanks for all the goodies - can't wait to start making stuff!
Response: Me too! I have so many cool napkins now that I don't know where to start ๐Ÿค—
Comment: Thank you for the lovely napkins and washis :)
SparkJoy rated for Swapping Animals! INTL on Jun 2, 2017
Comment: Thanks so much for all the cuteness! You could've done the easy thing and focused on cats but you didn't. The dictionary page was very creative and I read the whole thing!
Response: It's way more fun to see how many things you can find - especially with unusual animals. I liked seeing what I could come up with and I love using complimentary dictionary pages in my ATCs ๐Ÿ˜ I'm glad you liked it ๐Ÿ˜Š
Comment: Thank you for the napkins. Removing the lining was a great idea!. This is my first time working with napkins, so the flower ones were a nice addition. I love the colour in card as well! :)
dally rated for junk journal supplies - green on Jun 2, 2017
Comment: Thank you for all the wonderful green goodies Sara! I adore the fabric stamps, I assume you made them? <3
Response: I did make them. My sister sews so gives me lots of pretty scraps but I don't do much sewing unless it's paper in a junk journal ๐Ÿ˜. I'm always looking for ways to use the scraps in my journals...I'm glad you liked them!
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful journals and the pouch! They are all so special! The pouch reminds me of a hex quilt, it's really special :) I really enjoyed the poems inside the journal (particularly the square poem), and the small booklet is very interesting. Thank you so much :) I hope we can keep in touch, if you want to swap anytime you can contact me.
Response: I'm glad you liked it! My sister made the pouch (I generally only sew paper...), I only made the zipper charm on it. I would love to keep in touch as well! I loved making that journal and would like to swap again sometime ๐Ÿ˜ thank you for being an amazing swap partner!!!! ๐Ÿ˜˜
