I'm retired and married to the love of my life, Larry. We'll be celebrating our 2 year anniversary this coming January. I have one son, 19, from my late husband, and we are owned by a little Papillion dog we named Gizmo because she looks like the Gizmo from the movie, "Gremlins."

I enjoy all things fiber art including sewing, quilting, knitting (I'm such a beginner) and crocheting.

I love to travel and camp and read and surf the internet, especially for sewing-related sites. I'm a huge fan of TheQuiltShow.com.

I like all colors when I quilt, tho I'm especially drawn to the warm colors, ie., reds, oranges and yellows, and even purples and browns. I love mottled fabrics but not so much batiks or Halloweens. If you decide to send me fabric/fat quarters please note that I really like all cotton fabrics! I love Alex Anderson's quilt books and I have many of them. She's taught me how to hand quilt and I'm hand quilting my son's memory quilt. It's quite a relaxing thing to do! I refer to her books often to learn different techniques for this art they call quilting, though I'd sure like to read other books by different authors. I'm learning applique but, for now, my hand work leaves a lot to be desired. sigh

I like to make baby things when I crochet. I'm such a beginning knitter that my scarves they don't even come out right! lol

After being in a walking boot for half of a year because I broke my foot at Road to California, I finally feel well enough to get back on the treadmill. I was walking 3 miles a day and hope to get back to that very soon and get these rolls off my tummy! grin

I like to read and John Grisham is one of my favorite authors. Jean Auel is another. Anything fiction mystery or action is a good read and will keep me out of trouble for hours.

Country Western music touches my heart and soul. Garth Brook, Brooks and Dunn, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Sugarland, Dixie Chicks, Faith Hill, Shenia Twain, Trisha Yearwood, Montgomery Gentry, and many other new artists. I don't like the older songs with the "cowboy riding off into the sunset and the women fawning over them and the hound dog in the yard" as much.

I also enjoy pop music and some rock from the 50s thru the 90s and some of the bands such as the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Monkeys, Yardbirds and others.

I played the viola and the acoustic guitar in high school but lately I've been learning the piano when my arthritis allows it.

I'm a television junky and I love action and thrills. All the CSI and NCIS type shows are great tho I love a good comedy now and then.

I love pay per view because I never have to leave my home to watch a good movie. My taste in movies runs about like my taste in TV shows.

I'm a fiber-holic. I like to quilt, knit, crochet, and sew things in general. I've paper pieced a Grandma's Flower Garden, crocheted lots of baby afghans, sewn my own clothes and I'm just now learning how to knit. I love the soft cottons in a quilt, and the soft yarns to needle or hook. I love all of the warm colors, but sometimes I try other colors and play with different kinds of yarns just to see how they work.

Likes: New, far away, (exotic to me) and fun post cards. Home made or hand made postcards and greeting cards. Books. Soft or Novelty Yarns. Mottled Fabrics. 100% cotton fabrics.

Dislikes: Marachino Cherries. Pinkish Girly prints. Girly things in general.
