I'm a 37 year old married mom with 2 great sons. They are 6 and 8. (that's my youngest as my avatar! Apparently the worms were more fun to watch than fishing!) I teach in the elementary school here in my small town and enjoy it very much! I grew up in much bigger cities so this has been a change for me but I'm used to it by now. I love to travel, read, bake, exercise (to do after I'm done baking! :)), gardening, cats, shopping, candles, long bubble baths, and Postcrossing. My nearest relative (other than my husband and sons) is 5 hours away! I've made some good friends in this area though! I love to travel- I took my first cruise last summer and am going again with a good friend this August! I've also taken a group of 20 teenagers on a 2 week tour of Mexico which was one of the best experiences of my life.
I'll give anything a listen at least once. My favorites include Amy Grant, James Taylor, Night Ranger, Tim McGraw, and most music from the 1980's (my teen years!). My iPod has a pretty wide range on it!
Again, the 80's are a favorite! I loved The Sure Thing, Say Anything, Mystic Pizza, The Shawshank Redemption, and Maria, Full of Grace. Lifetime has got some pretty good movies too. I enjoy Netflix and watch a lot of foreign films (mainly in Spanish) and also documentaries.
I like the Amazing Race, The Bachelor, One Tree Hill, The OC, Engaged and Underage (which I guess is no longer on!), Dr. Phil, and Judge Judy. I also like some of the shows on Discovery Health. But if I miss any of these shows, it's no big deal- I'm not a fanatic! :)
I don't do much myself but always admire what others are able to do! I'd love to learn how to make quilts- I have a sewing machine that's never made it out of the box! I also have had people trying to talk me into scrapbooking. I've invested in lots of supplies but it just hasn't taken off yet. I'm very curious about ATCs also. I think this is something I may try this summer when I have more time! I've looked them up online, but if any of my swapper partners would ever feel like sending me a real one with their swap, it would be very much appreciated! :)
Here are some things I like: candle tarts, candies/food from foreign countries, stickers, jewelry, butterflies, flowers, notepads, fun erasers and pencils that I can give to the kids at school, and things to do with the beach or ocean.
