Hi! My name is Molly and I'm 28 years old.
Please feel free to add me as a friend!
UPDATE November 11th, 2017: After over a year away from swapping, I have decided to slowly ease myself back into it! I missed swapping and can't wait till get back into it.
UPDATE July 26th, 2016: I am removing myself from all swaps, except a few electronic swaps, that have not had partners assigned. I will be taking a break from swapping while I got through a divorce and a move. Thank you.
UPDATE April 1st, 2016: My mother passed away Wednesday, March 30th. I will continue to on swaps as I can, but there is a lot to do in the coming days. Please be patient with me on the swaps that are already going, and I will get them out as soon as I can. Thank you.
I have an amazing baby boy named Taran, whom I love with all my heart! He was born July 22nd 2015, at 7:39am and I can't imagine my life without him anymore. I call him my Little Piggie, or Sir Snorts-a-Lot. I have three cats: Mau, Church, and Leeloo. They drive me crazy, but I love them to death.
I currently work at a group home for adults with schizophrenia. It's a very emotionally intense job, but I love it for the most part. I help teach them skills needed to live independently, such as proper hygiene, cooking, cleaning, shopping, and money management. I spend most of my day redirecting them, trying to keep them on task, but sometimes we get to do fun things, like go on outings or play games.
I like to spend my free time reading and writing. I currently own over six hundred physical books and close to a thousand ebooks. The people at my local bookstore know me by name and I love going to spend time there with my best friend, Amanda. I love poetry, reading and writing it. One of my poems was published in a local literary journal, but I haven't had any luck publishing since then. I would love to put out a book of my poetry though, but I'm not sure if I'm confident enough! I'm currently working on a novel that I hope to finish someday.
I have fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis, which means I don't feel well frequently. Unfortunately, both are autoimmune diseases, and affect almost every part of my body in some way. Sometimes, just getting out of bed in the morning is a struggle, but I push through it! Life doesn't get put on hold just because I don't feel like dealing with it.
I started pen-palling almost two years ago now. I have about fifteen pen pals that I love writing to and I look forward to participating in swaps. I love mail art and I enjoy making my own envelopes. I'm still new to mail art though, so I'm not always the best. I try to respond to letters as quickly as I can, but sometimes life and illness get in the way. I will always respond though, even if it takes me a little bit.
I love reading books of all kinds, but mostly young adult, fantasy, and sci-fi. Some of my favorite authors are Ellen Hopkins, Holly Black, and Clive Barker. Some of the books I enjoy: the Abarat series and Mister B. Gone by Clive Barker, the Modern Tales of Faerie by Holly Black, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Faeriewalker trilogy, Freak the Mighty, The Georgia Nicholson Diaries, The Raven Cycle, Wildwood, The Nevermore series, The White Trash Zombie series, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, The Shadow Falls series, The Lost Girl, The Darkest Minds, Bleeding Violet and Slice of Cherry, Delirium, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Internment Chronicles and the Chemical Garden trilogy, The Flowers in the Attic series, and so many more.
I love to listen to music. Mostly indie/folk rock, but I also enjoy K-pop and more alternative stuff. Some bands/musicians I like include: Alkaline Trio, The Decemberists, She Wants Revenge, SHINee, Super Junior, Death Cab for Cutie, The Honorary Title, Blink 182, Margot and the Nuclear So & So's, Bright Eyes, Brand New, The Head and the Heart, Maps and Atlases, Panic! At the Disco, Tomte, Steam Powered Giraffe, and much more.
I love K-dramas and I watch a ton of shows on Netflix. Some of the shows I enjoy: Bones, Criminal Minds, Lost Girl, Eureka, Fringe, The 100, House of Cards, The Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars, The Walking Dead, Bates Motel, Stargate: SG1 and Stargate: Atlantis, New Girl, Bob's Burgers, The X-Files, The Big Bang Theory, Boy Meets World, The IT Crowd, Red Dwarf, Father Ted, Fresh Meat, iZombie, Flower Boy Ramen Shop, Boys over Flowers, Coffee Prince, and probably more that I'm not remembering right now!
I've always been considered weird, but that's okay by me. I absolutely love cute, kawaii things, but I'm also extremely morbid. I have a ton of random "aesthetic" interests, such as: cute stickers and planner stickers, rain and thunderstorms, stars, clouds, darkness/nighttime, bones, flowers (sunflowers are my favorite, but I love all different kinds), antiques and vintage, colors (not a big fan of brown, but orange/pinks/purples are my favorite), mythical creatures (faeries are my favorite, but I also love mermaids), oddities and curiosities, scissors, glasses, mustaches, tattoos, beards, vintage jewelry, autumn, pandas, sloths, pigs, glitter and sparkles, Hello Kitty and all Sanrio characters, most kawaii things, vintage medical things (like diagrams and charts). My friends usually tell me, "This is weird, so I thought you'd like it." You really can't go wrong with weird, morbid, or overly cute things.
Just please, no overly religious items.
