Info

It's that time of year again, Christmas, birthdays etc, so I am winding down for a few weeks. All current swaps will of course be completed, but I will not join new swaps for a while! Have a great winter!*

What I expect from swappers...OK I have delayed posting this on my profile page for a while as it seems so negative but I want to let people who swap with me know my own ground rules.

  1. I expect to be kept in the loop. If I send you a PM about a swap, please reply. Even if it's bad news, let me know. Life happens, I know that and understand.

  2. If you are late on a swap for personal reasons (illness, family, work, money) PM me and TELL ME DIRECTLY. Posting on your own profile page about why you are late for a whole host of swaps is not acceptable. It only takes a few seconds to write a quick PM. If it's not in a PM to me DIRECTLY, it's not on my radar and I will rate accordingly.

Favorite Music

I love JPOP and JPunk. Favourite artists are Maximum the Hormone, Puffy, Goto Maki, Blue Hearts, Mikabomb, Muramasa to name but a few. Recently got interested in Girl Next Door too.

Other than that, as long as you can sing it at karaoke I probably like it!

Ambitions

To climb to the North Col of Everest! (In my dreams!!). I like mountaineering, and I'd love to climb the Matterhorn, but I don't know if this is too ambitious!

Favorite Books

Manga manga manga! Death note, Hikaru no Go, Uzumaki. I could just read the same book over and over. I also like girly Manga like Nana, High School Girls and Mahoromatic. I recently started reading 20th Century Boys and Pluto, and they are both awesome manga. I try to read some manga in Japanese to brush up my skills - currently reading Bakuman, anyone interested in language exchanges, let me know!

I like novels too. I'm currently reading a lot of Stephen King books. I feel like I've discovered him really late! He's been writing for years, and I only just realised he was good, doh!

I also like Terry Pratchett, Natsuo Kirino, Cormac McCarthy, Jeff Lyndsay and Tom Holt. I also love climbing and mountaineering literature and will read pretty much anything to do with mountains!

Loves

Kawaii, Japan, Manga, drawing, sweets, hot baths, sleeping late, friday night takeaways, curry, pizza, salt and vinegar crisps, clean sheets, new shoes, hiking, camping, swimming, movies, reading, hamsters, dogs, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Terminator 2, Chinese class, singing (but I'm awful!)... When it comes to 'Stuff' and 'things' (lol can't think of a better way to say this), I love buttons, ribbon, stickers, cute fabrics, wool roving for needle felting, little boxes, board books (love to alter these), milliput, cute and kawaii paper, all sorts really!

Oh, and Anything Lilo and Stitch

Hates

Custard, Mayonnaise, anything chocolate scented or flavoured (but love chocolate itself!) Monday mornings, smelly feet, late nights, washing up, ironing, being late, forgetting appointments, liqour chocolates, scented soaps and smellies. I also hate Hello Kitty, doh!

Not really a hate, but please don't send any religious items of any kind, for any religion, I just don't have any use or interest in it. Thank you :-)

Kawaii

I love... Miracle Girls and similar designs.

Hamsters (not San-X hamsters)

Anything with skulls/ goth/ emo styles

Fun Time Girls

Miki's Good Friends

Kumakikai

Puppies (real or cartoon), monkeys, pirates, pandas, skulls, cupcakes, desserts, fruits.

Folding memos, stickers, cute fabrics, deco tapes (addicted to these)and sticker sacks.

I DO NOT LIKE HELLO KITTY. Please don't send me Kitty stuff, I know many people love her, but sadly I don't!!

love love love Kamio and Q-Lia, the cuter the better--- it really can not be too cute for me! lol

I love anything where inanimate objects are brought to life (sushi, candy, medicine bottles--you know the stuff I mean!) or fantasy creatures like Kappa and Tanuki.

CANDY!!

OK, so I love Candy, probably a bit too much! I love nerds, laffy taffy, starburst, haribo, millions, chocolate peppermints, extra strong mints, ramune, hi-chew, liquorice, fizzers, love hearts, refreshers, snickers, twix...wow I could continue for a whole page!

Comment: Jane, thank you so much for this journal. It was absolutely amazing and I especially loved the little milk bottle key ring which now has a special place on my bag and has been exclaimed over by all my friends. I was so pleased to hear all about your trip to Scotland and your work. Congratulations on your weight loss! It sounds like all your rock climbing is really paying off! Also, as a vegetarian, I really enjoyed reading about all the different vegies and have been trying a few different ones in my cooking lately. Thank you so much for giving me a window into a life so different from my own and yet similar in so many ways as well. I didn't know you had fredo frogs in the UK! I thought they were australian! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I wish I could give you 5 hearts! :)
Response: Phew! So glad it all arrived safely and you enjoyed it. I really had fun with this swap! Thank you for the great feedback, I appreciate that :-)

Comment: Thank you for the postcard - the Dales look fantastic. We visited the Derbyshire Dales for our honeymoon 4 years ago - when I win the lottery (lol) and we buy a camper van, the Yorkshire Dales will definately be on my list of places to visit.
Response: Yes, it really is beautiful! Thanks for the heart :-) And good luck on the lotto!

Comment: I really enjoyed your 'zine! Such a diverse selection of bookish topics--(On the book into film front, I'm ALWAYS better about it if I see the film before I read the book...otherwise I'm impossible...just ask my husband about the time we watched the second Anne of Green Gables movie together...) and I'm insanely jealous that you have 7 charity shops in your town...The thrifting possibilities for books, not to mention clothing and all sorts of other goodies, is making my mind reel! Thank you for such a fun and enjoyable read! Kate PS: I completely sympathize with the photocopying issues...after many failed attempts on my part to copy my 'zine with all the pages going in the right direction, I had to send it with my husband to his office, where they have a "smart" copier that somehow "knows" how to make a two-sided copy with everything the right way round!
Response: Oh the copying was just a nightmare, possibly one of the most patience testing exercises EVER!! The charity shops are great, I go almost every week!

It's not letting me send you a message for some reason >_< I PMed you to let you know that the envie with the ATCs for the Kawaii collage swap was returned to me yesterday for using stamps on international mail. I've never had a problem with that before, but I went ahead and went to the post office and resent it. Dumb USPS. Anyways, I just wanted to give you a heads up about what's going on and apologize for the delay ^^;;
