1st July 2008 - survived the canal boat holiday, got rid of the stomach bug but came back with a bad cold! still recovering
16th May 2008 - i'm trying to have a clear out right now, so am not currently looking for anything. i have more bottlecaps than i know what to do with, more cross stitch kits than i have time to complete - i need to learn how to be a minimalist somehow!
i live at home still, in south east england, with my mum and step-dad, i don't work right now and i love receiving things through the post, it gives me something to look fowards to!!
i love learning about people and things from around the world its the next best thing when you can't afford to go yourself!
plus it means i have to make myself leave the house and go to the post office to get the things posted - gives me a chance to get out the house.
i'm an only child and have no cousins - my family is my mum and her parents basically. very very small!
i am currently researching my family tree. i've only just started but it's got very interesting very quickly! - well i was....but its kind of peetered out....
i'm not very girly, i'm not your kind of pink, hearts and fluff girl, but i'm not the other extreme or black goth and rock chick either! i guess i'm a bit of a tomboy. mum always used to say i should have been born a boy when i was climbing trees as a kid!
i love to grow my own veg too! just wish i had a bigger garden.

i like making things special, its the little extra details that i love. i like making people smile.
i used to work with horses and when i was well enough i loved horse riding and caring for horses, but i can't do it at the moment sadly...they are such recpetive creatures, often much more than many humans.

i try and do my bit for the planet too and love to reuse and recycle anything i can - so please don't be offended if your package comes in a box that has been previously enjoyed - think of it that you are helping the planet too! thats why i love my DaWanda shop so much.

i'm afraid i'm a pain if you want to send extras, as there's nothing i collect.
fav colour: lilac/purple or rainbow
fav art/craft: cross stitch, macro photography, greetings cards, bottle cap art/altered art

fav animals: alhough i am an animal lover i'm not hugely passionate about them but when it comes to domestic animals i prefer bigger animals such as horses, cats and dogs - i love animals that show affection back - i find great comfort in them, its just a shame my mother doesn't feel the same way - hence i have no pets....
General:
i love crystal light, especially the honey and lemon green tea flavour (can't get them in the UK....)
i drink lots and lots of Tea... and like flavoured teas, however i'm not a fan of green tea, more teas with things like chocolate or caramel flavour.
rainbows and brightly coloured things
funky patterns
all things fruit and vegetable - especially growing them!!
please do not send sweets or candy!! (or any food)
Goth, punk etc things skulls
floral and very girly style things like pink princesses (its not that i really dislike them - it's just not my thing)
spiders and wasps (huge phobia!)
coffee (no matter how many times i try it - yuck!)
extremely cold weather (snow is pretty when you're inside though!)
extremely hot weather (i wilt like a flower! and so do my plants!)
The latest thing has been the bottlecaps but cross stitch is my other craft and i make my own greetings cards when i need them rather than buy them. i've recently started doing cards with my own photography. i like trying new crafts but my concentration span is limited.
i seem to go through phases of things, its just a shame the phases don't last!
The only time i ever listen to music is in my car, i always have the radio on. I like pop music from all decades 60's through to modern day. if i can sing a long to it i like it!
not a fan of classical, rock, punk, country and western or garage/techno - so i guess pop covers the rest really!
i love auto biographies. not just of famous people but stories of people's live that are inspiring or the work they've done is inspiring.
true stories and biographical films.
girl interrupted and Mrs brown.
any film with Judi Dench in it.

the animated ones like wallace and gromit, finding nemo etc
romantice comedies are ok - as long as they're not too slushie!
i don't like action, thrillers or horror
animated things like "Shaun the Sheep" are very funny - there are so many adult jokes in them even tho they are meant for kids!
Programmes i do watch:
casualty
Any thing with Gordon Ramsay in it!
Top Gear
i love great british classics such as: The Good Life, Fawlty Towers, Dad's Army, Only fools and horses, Are you being served?, Blackadder
and i can't start my morning without The Wright Stuff on channel 5.
i am obsessed with recycling. i recycle everything i can. paper and card goes in our council recycling bin but i keep all the glass, metal and solid plastic separate (even tho the coucil takes metal and plastic) and i take them to the Tesco (supermarket) recycling centre because i can get green clubcard (reward) points. i refuse to get any new carrier bags, unless we run out of bags for the bin.
this last xmas i saved tins and glass jars to make christmas lanterns with candles for outside, because i thought i'd try and save electricity this year! compensate for all those who go OTT and put thousands of lights all over their homes, and all those offices who leave their lights on 24/7!
we also have 2 compost bins and a wormery in the garden where all our egg shells, veggie scraps and tea bags go. our council takes food waste in a separate bin.
any papers with our personal details go through our shredder which then goes into the compost bins and rots down.

If i rate without a comment and you don't like that then i'm sorry. there are only 2 reasons for this, firstly as i have read from others in the forums i may have received something that matched the swap requirements but didn't make me go "Wow!"
or it may be that i'm really struggling that day, can't find the words and simply want to make sure i remember to rate before i forget.
please contact me if you're not happy with anything or you want to check something before sending.
as i was always taught at school "if you're not sure - ask!"

and finally please take into account postage times across the atlantic (or any other ocean it might be crossing).
