I am a full-time mom of 2 beautiful children - a 6 year old boy and a 1 year old girl. We live in a small community about 20 minutes from Madison, Wisconsin. I've lived in Wisconsin my entire life except for the one year I lived in England during graduate school.
I enjoy scrapbooking, card making, biking, reading, shopping, cooking, baking, and, obviously, spending time with my family.
My favorite book genre is mystery/thriller or true crime.
I also love browsing through cookbooks. I like to dig through the shelves at second-hand stores and find great cookbooks on the cheap.
I love to scrapbook and make cards. I work on scrapbooks for my kids so that they can have the memories someday.
I started this hobby when my first child was born and it is so exciting now that he is old enough to read the journaling without help. He gets a big kick out of it.
I enjoy making cards as gifts for others. I only wish I had more time to work on these hobbies.
As far as television shows go, I am a reality-show junkie. I watch a lot of them (it's my guilty pleasure - I record them and watch them after the kids are in bed), get hooked on stupid ones easily, and would love to be on one. I have my favorites, but I'm too embarrassed to admit which ones.
I'm also a huge fan of Brady Bunch, Three's Company and can watch CNN for hours on end.
But, what is usually on the TV in my house during the day is some cartoon or another. And if all else fails, we record Sesame Street every day.
Basically, I'm a big dork when it comes to TV.
A few of my favorite "feel good" things....
Fluffy slipper-socks, Lip balm, Nail polish, Bubble Bath, Fun old cookbooks, Cooking/kitchen gadgets, Chocolate, Small purse-size hand lotions, Funky earrings or bracelets
I also am totally fine receiving second-hand but gently used things. The ultimate recycling:)
Any chocolate except dark. Love peppermint, and any fruit candies, except watemelon. Love any coffee or coffee flavored things. Love anything salty and love to try "regional" favorites. I'll try just about any kind of food.
My husband is asian and we love asian cooking and trying new and different things. We love really spicy food. My husband will also eat absolutely anything - he should be the host of that Travel Channel show "Bizarre Foods".
Don't like watermelon, cinnamon, ginger, coconut or black licorice flavored things. Also, not a big fan of gum of any kind. The minute I put some in my mouth my son wants a piece and then it inevitably ends up stuck to the couch....
Don't like country style or gingham things. Not a big fan of knick-knacks in general, either. Just more stuff to dust and more stuff to put out of the baby's reach.
Like to scrapbook but not with character images such as Mickey Mouse, etc.
