Thank you to everyone who keeps in mind my mail is coming from Korea and may take longer than usual.
However, I have a whole set of swaps from about mid-January to late February that I have sent and haven't been rated on. Please if you're expecting a swap from me and it was sent in that time frame contact me and I will send again. I'm afraid that whole slew of mail is lost. (That goes for any swap you think you should have gotten from me, really. Contact me and I will always send again).
I have a penpal group on Ravelry that my January card didn't arrive till about April 5th so there is still hope! But if you want me to resend I will.
Teacher by day, crafty goddess by night.
I live and work in Ulsan, South Korea.
I'm addicted to crafting, postcards, and murder mysteries.
EVERYTHING AFTER THIS POINT IS STILL ACCURATE, BUT VERY OLD. I have intentions of updating this profile but it's daunting.
I haven't swapped much but I really want to get swapping.
Right now I'm sticking with postcard swaps until I get the hang of things. I've been involved in a postcard exchanges on other sites for over 10 years and it's been so much fun.
I really like my postcards written on and naked. I love homemade cards or anything remotely unusual. To be honest, my least favorite kind of card are tourist cards but I still love them, too. I put them up on my door to remind me what a big world there is out there.
Did I mention that I knit? Because I do. Often, and in public.
Knitting is my go-to craft. But I also spin my own yarn. I really love any kind of crafty endeavour. I got a sewing machine for Christmas so I want to get into that.
I love detective fiction. I generally read to escape. The Sue Grafton Alphabet series is one of my favorites.
I've begun branching out into books with good LGBT representation. I'm loving Shira Glassman's Mangoverse books.
Agatha Christie is an all-time favorite and I grew up on Nancy Drew.
I also enjoy reading non-fiction. I usually read books that fall under the umbrella of sociology. I was a Multimedia Studies major in university so i enjoy reading about pop culture. I'm also really into women's rights and sexuality.
Like books, my preferred genre is crime drama. I enjoy Criminal Minds, Bones; NCIS is a guilty pleasure of mine (and all the spinoffs). Homicide Life on the Street is a classic. I'm kinda cranky that Castle got cancelled last season.
I also really enjoy British murder mysteries like Midsomer Murders, Luther, Morse, Inspector Lewis, and Wire in the Blood.
I love true crime shows. I'm currently binging Homicide Hunter.
Most of my friends are really into sci-fi so I get exposed to that a lot. Over my Christmas holiday I binged Dr Who and I'm all caught up on what they have on Amazon Prime. I think I have to wait till the summer for the newest doctor.
I'm a Canadian who grew up in New Brunswick but I've travelled all across our great country. I've also lived in Ontario and Alberta.
In the US I've lived in Maine and Maryland.
Outside of North America I've lived in Korea, China, and Indonesia.
Besides all those countries I've travelled to: Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and the Dominican Republic.

Hi Marie, you are the lucky winner of the 3 recipes for 3 people #2 International random profile goodie. I hope you like the postcard!
I haven't seen anything the Newbie swap to day, but our mail delivery is lousy, on good days, so I'll be watching for another week or two; then will let you know if I've not seen anything.
Woohoo! I'm glad my tea swap made it to you safely. And, lol, yes, what's considered "cold" is relative. Vancouver has been a bit weird but I blame it all on climate change. Growing up, Vancouver was always mild. Winters rarely got snow and if it did snow, it was wet slush that never lasted more than a couple days. Rained all year round. Summer was somewhat sunny and warm-ish for about 2 months, 3 if we're lucky. Now we have snow that sticks and heatwaves -- none that Vancouverites know how to deal with. Gah. Anyway, I sincerely hope you get the chance to enjoy the teas. =) Stay golden!
hey, i see you are new! welcome to the awesome world of swapping! just a tip, fill out your profile more, sometimes it helps you get accepted into swaps, even as a newbie ^^
