i was born and raised in central wisconsin and now live in Green Bay. i have a bachelor of arts degree in social change and development, and i've been working in banking for about eight years. most of that time was spent on the retail side (i was a personal banker/loan officer,) recently i moved to a management position in our operations area. i speak spanish and live/work in an latino immigrant community, so by default i get immersed in a lot of mexican food and culture. we also have large hmong and russian immigrant communities, which i enjoy equally as much. i would love it if anyone could teach me some hmong or russian!
i live with my boyfriend in a cute little house, on a cute little street. we are governed by three black cats called twinsen, ace, and lola.
the bank is really just my bread and butter. what i'm really passionate about is art, books, the environment, family, friends and community.
i really try to live by this quote:
"We must strive to become good ancestors." -Ralph Nader
interesting images from books and magazines
paper scraps
broken jewelry
leftover paint
buttons
wire
fabric scraps
old office supplies
other odds and ends that we might normally throw away
my mom has been a crafter for my whole life, though she inspires me endlessly, i've inherited very little of her talent for needlecrafts. i AM pretty handy with a gluestick though. i like to altar things and make collage. i really enjoy ATCs, not only because they're fun to make, but the whole concept of trading art just warms my heart :)
i tend to be hyper-aware of the waste i create, so i prefer to use/re-use scraps and castoffs. most of my supplies are thrifted from salvation army or salvaged from the garbage.
cats
sun stars and moon
50s/60s retro stuff

gypsies
nuns
buffy and angel
i think sustainability with everything i do. please don't ever feel like you need to purchase something new if you have me as a swap partner. i always prefer handmade, recycled, and gently used. :) i am also open to suggestions for sustainable living. please share your knowledge and wisdom with me!!!
